christmas cards + Tiny Prints giveaway

I did it. I fiiiiinally did it. It’s mid November and I have Christmas cards already! Wooo! I’m pretty sure it’s been on my to-do list every single year for basically forever. Only once in the past have I ever gotten cards printed. Even then I used a photo from the previous year and it was one of just one cat. This year my Christmas card is bringing you the whoooole family. Well not in one photo because let’s be real, we would definitely need helpers but that’s not to say we didn’t try (and end up with hilarious results!) I’m so stoked about these!

I think I had really been putting it off all this time because I was intimidated by the idea of having to design them. Shooting photos is fun for me, but your girl isn’t a designer. Luckily Tiny Prints has a ton of different cards that are super cute and stylish to choose from where all you have to do is upload your photo and fill in a little area of what your names are. Although if you don’t share a last name with your partner that’s not so easy. I debated for quite a while on what to put on our cards. In true Jeff + Kaylah form I wanted to do something silly and combine our last names but I figured just putting first names would save everyone from confusion. In hindsight I probably should have just gone for “Stroolans” and put it in personalized gold foil to make it really pop! Hehe!

I chose gold foil stamped cards, which look sooo much prettier in person than I could ever capture in photos. They also offer silver, rose gold and red foil, so it was a tough choice. Our cards are also flat which I purposely sought out so I wouldn’t have to think of anything to write on them when I send them. Just being real here, that might be one of the worst parts about sending holiday cards!

If you’d rather your holiday card serve a purpose, Tiny Prints also offers ornament cards so the recipient can just hang them on their tree. It’s such a good idea I almost feel guilty having not gotten them because I know my mom would have loved one. She already said “You have to mail me five of those!!” about the cards. Oh mom…

I’m beyond happy with how the cards turned out. I envisioned this perfect family photo of Jeff, the two cats, Klaus, and I but like I said above that just wasn’t going to happen. What we ended up with is even better though. I love how Klaus is giving us some sort of weird face on the front and how stoic he looks on the back in the shot of him and Jeff. Swoooon! I think my favorite part might be the shot on the inside of the envelopes though. That’s like the icing on the cake. I’m really excited to send them to everyone in our families but on the other hand I kind of just want to hoard them for myself. One is definitely getting saved to hang on the fridge in our new place.

These are fantastic! We're thinking of actually send Christmas cards this year too. Trying to photograph five cats whom may or may not be in Christmas attire is difficult!

Kaylah November 16, 2016 - 3:51 pm

Haha! Oh goodness! I need to see the outcome of this!

Jessica November 16, 2016 - 2:46 pm

I definitely want the Colorful Everything ornament cards.

gmekreft November 16, 2016 - 2:49 pm

I think my favorite card is the "Effortlessly Simple Dijon Flat Holiday Photo Card". Sending out cards on time is always SO hard! You have to find the time to take the picture, order the card, and send them out. I'm always late!

Kayla Lukawiecki November 16, 2016 - 2:51 pm

I'm dying at that stack of photos of Klaus' eye. That is fantastic.
These are super adorable!!

Kaylah November 16, 2016 - 3:52 pm

Haha! I couldn't resist. One time when I set them down they kind of did that on their own and I was like "okay, I have to lay these out like that for a photo!" Such a goofy dog.

Rachel Powell November 16, 2016 - 2:58 pm

Those cards are freaking adorable! I can't even stand crazy Klaus in those photos, dogs are the absolute best.

Kaylah November 16, 2016 - 3:53 pm

They really are! Sometimes he's the most annoying thing ever but I don't know what I'd do without that silly dog.

Rachel Powell November 16, 2016 - 2:59 pm

P.S. I would totally choose the Glimmering Snowfall for my own crazy family cards.

Mindi Wooley November 16, 2016 - 3:11 pm

Oh my gosh, these are the CUTEST!!! I love that expression on Klaus' face!

henna73 November 16, 2016 - 3:34 pm

I like the Rich Wreath card!

sixteenthnote November 16, 2016 - 3:45 pm

Ooh, I'd pick the Peace & Love glitter card in smoke & silver glitter. I feel the sentiment is needed in these times 🙂

byrdsofaheather November 16, 2016 - 3:54 pm

Love how bright and festive your green hair is against the black. Very cute cards!

Lorita Ho November 16, 2016 - 4:01 pm

I haven't sent holiday cards in years but I've been feeling the itch to send them out this year. I really like this design: https://www.tinyprints.com/product/73907/glitter_holiday_cards_graceful_lettering.html?productPageTest=1

Charming Circlet is so cute! I've never recieved a personalised christmas card before let alone given one, now might be the excuse to start!

Kimberly Dickinson November 16, 2016 - 5:16 pm

Your holiday cards are so cute! I love the Stamped Suede and Gingerbread Galore ones on the website, too! So much good stuff!

Ashley Stubbs November 16, 2016 - 5:19 pm

Okay these are precious. The Gingerbread Galore card is too cute to pass up. We do Christmas cards every year since having kids and I get nervous that I am just choosing similar designs every year and that one is so different compared to the others. I really love it!

iiSwanSongii November 16, 2016 - 6:34 pm

Great Card!

Alisa November 16, 2016 - 6:48 pm

Lindsay Jo Design November 17, 2016 - 2:32 am

Your cards are so adorable! I love all of the photos you used. I also absolutely adore how the dark colors look on that card stock too, it has a really nice texture to it. I'm hoping to get some family photos of my son, husband and I soon – my son just turned 1 – for our Christmas cards this year. If I won, I would definitely want the letterpress filigree cards, those are so cute and I adore letterpress! I also love the tri-fold shiny droplets card, so I could add plenty of photos. 🙂

shelby mosel November 17, 2016 - 6:32 am

Alexandra November 17, 2016 - 2:54 pm

These are the best! Usually photo cards are a little too LOOK AT ME for me, but you've managed to make ones that are TOTALLY cute and funny and sweet. I've dreamed of getting a "family" photo of Mozart and I but she'd probably bite my face off.

Dulce November 17, 2016 - 2:57 pm

love these, every year I promise myself that I'm going to print Christmas cards but nothing, maybe this year…

EmmaD November 17, 2016 - 3:21 pm

Hannah Peterson November 17, 2016 - 4:23 pm

So cute. I love the dark wall and the white tree with the gold. Klaus' face is perfect.

GritsAnd Moxie November 17, 2016 - 4:29 pm

The Season Streamer is my perfect pick! 🙂 With 2 dogs, 4 cats and the 2 of us on continual adventures, I think a simple card highlights our chosen photo.

Also, MEGA KUDOS to the company for being so inclusive re: the wonderful variety of families that exist. 🙂 It makes me happy!

Tina C. November 17, 2016 - 5:36 pm
