Back in October of last year I shared photos of my lapel pin collection which has only continued to grow since then. Even if you don’t remember that post, you’ve probably noticed in my what I wore
posts that I kind of have a thing for accessories. Fun necklaces, rings,
brooches, lapel pins, etc. I love them all. I 100% do not abide by the
quote “before you leave the house, look in the mirror and remove one
accessory.” I basically do the opposite. Before leaving the house I
usually look in the mirror to make sure I have at least a few eye
catching things on.
Lapel pins are super hip right now. I’m
ashamed to admit that I’m usually kind of sour when things I love become
super popular but there are so many independent companies out there
making them and you can find one for just about any interest you may
have. Seriously, I have one about beach combing! I’ve welcomed this boom with open arms. I love finding new brands
with lapel pins. They’re small, and usually cost less then $10 a piece
so they’re easy to collect. They’re also a really awesome way to support
creative folks and their businesses (…at least that’s how I justify having so many!)
A few weeks back I upgraded the bulletin board I display my pins on. The old one, a three dollar score from the Target dollar spot, finally ran out of room. I was able to find something with a little bit more space in the same place, the dollar section at Target! You just can’t beat it for three bucks! My new one holds a bunch more, and displays them beautifully.
It would be crazy hard to link to where each of the pins are from so
instead I’ll link to some of the folks I own pins from and then you can
blame me when you blow all your money on pins!

Awesome post! Your pins are gorgeous, and I can't wait to check out all the shop links. This is a silly question, but what do you do with the backs? Or does the pin go all the way through the board? I have some cool smaller cork boards that I also got on sale at Target (LOL), but I'm hesitant to store pins on them because I don't want to lose them/the backs.
I store all the backs in that little turtle shown in the photo. I even left it open in one of the photos so you could see them. There are so many cute little containers out there if you don't happen to have a turtle laying around. 😛
I love that you have them organized by color!
Everything is better organized by color! 🙂
I just started collecting lapel pins and OMG it's so addictive! I love them for adding some subtle geekery to more staid outfits. They're great conversation starters.
Yep, exactly!! 🙂
First of all, that Uncle Fester pin, in particular, is amazing. I love the way you've displayed all of these. Like art! Secondly, ARE THERE LOCKERS IN YOUR APARTMENT? Tell me more.
Heck yes I have lockers in my apartment!

Oh yay!! Uncle fester is by Two Ghouls Press! Thanks!
ahh I love the way you organize your collection. So pretty! I don't collect lapel pins but I wannnnna.
Watch out, it's addicting!
Thanks so much for featuring Two Ghouls Press along with all these other brands! I keep telling myself I'll organize them by color like you have because it looks so pretty, but I can't stop picking up new ones. Haha 👻👻
Hahah! Yeah, I have to reorganize all the time! I try to only move a few around when I add a new one but always end up taking everything off and starting fresh. It's definitely a process (that I not so secretly really enjoy!)
Do you know these? https://witandwhistle.com/product-category/pins/
The "lady power" one makes me chuckle 🙂
Nope but HOLY COW, I love them!!!
LOVE YOUR COLLECTION! Sometimes I feel like mine is getting out of hand and then I see someone else's! Ha! 😉
Totally right about them being cheap and easy to collect. I think my fave is the open mouth I have by CouCouSuzette. I like to tip all my food pins toward it! I also recently acquired a set of 2 sharks, hammerhead and a great white, dressed like they are from Grease! They crack me up!
Excuuuuuse me, are you saying mine is out of hand?!
😛
GASP! NEVER! Besides, I've seen WAY worse. And by worse, I mean AWESOMMMMME
Where do you keep the backs to the pins? That's what has been keeping me from using a board like yours.
I store all the backs in that little turtle shown in the photo. I even left it open in one of the photos so you could see them.
Your collection is gorgeous Kaylah. I really like your teeth. The new board is pretty neat! I would guess I own probably around 80 pins and brooches (quite possibly more but I have never counted) . I do a weekly feature called 5brooches where I share 5pins or brooches I've worn that week. My current post is that so if you fancy a look, feel free to click my name to come to my url, it would be lovely to receive a visit.
Awesome! I'll have to check that out.
🙂
Looking so pretty! I have a badge collection which I started age thirteen and is mainly MCR and other teen emo stuff and I'm thinking of swapping it to start something like this <3
The Quirky Queer
Hehe! 🙂
All of them look so cool 🙂
Thanks! 🙂
I love this
🙂
I love your pins, its not really a think in the UK and I can't face paying the postage charges for a pin or two!
Yeeeah, shipping is definitely a deterrent from time to time with these. Such a bummer!
I bloody love enamel pins, your collection is total goals! <3

Hehe! Thanks! 🙂
I am not allowing myself to click on these links because I will want all of the pins! I just let myself google the Uncle Fester pin because it's INCREDIBLE
