Sooo, my hair is getting long! Woo! Finally! Compared to a lot of people this isn’t really all that long at all but for the past probably at least fifteen years I’ve been rocking some kind of short-ish bob. I LOVE getting my hair cut. I normally start to feel real anxious and like my hair isn’t pretty at all if I don’t keep my cut maintained but for some reason earlier this year I decided I wanted to see what it would be like a little bit longer. For a few months it just felt like it looked the same then all of a sudden one day I looked in the mirror and was like “whaaaat!? where did this all come from?!” Actually the last few times I’ve shared outfit photos I feel like I’m also sharing a new look just because my hair feels so different. I’m so happy with how it looks, especially curled! I’m sure the urge to cut it will come on randomly and I’ll have to cave but I am living for it right now.

Other “new” things, this dress. It’s been in my closet a while. I was considering selling it because even though it’s super cute and fits well it’s just a hair too short. It’s sheer and underneath is a slip except the slip is just not long enough at all, like booty almost showing even while you’re standing still. I’ve never been huge on wearing shorts underneath dresses just because it always feels like a clunky addition to an outfit but for some reason I tried on a pair I wear around the house and yeah, this dress is definitely not leaving my possession anytime soon. I wore this outfit downtown to watch the Cavs win (seriously, best night ever!) and on our walk there I told Jeff “I feel like I could do kung fu in this outfit!” I don’t exactly know how to explain what that means but I certainly hope you’ve experienced the same thing in something you’ve worn even if you wouldn’t describe it the same way. It’s like feeling really attractive but like you could still totally whoop some butt if anyone crossed you. So, strong, sexy, and confident? It’s a great feeling, and I will probably be wearing this dress all summer long, only taking it off to wash it.

Hope you’re having an awesome week!
xoxo

I definitely noticed your hair was getting longer! 🙂 Several outfit posts back I said to myself, Hmm..I wonder if she's growing it out! I love your hair long! Of course, your hair looks beautiful at any length and in any color, seriously, but my favorite is when it's long, and blue! Perfection! <3 Fight the urge to cut it! It's so pretty!! 🙂

Hehe, thank you! 😀

I know that feeling exactly, I call it my Beyonce alter ego 😉 Certain songs give me the same feeling too, when I'm listening on my mp3, walking down the road in town in the sunshine 🙂

Kaylah June 22, 2016 - 9:34 pm

Haha! Saaaame! I have so many songs that I love to listen to when I walk places just because I feel like such a badass while they're on.

That's how I felt when I first tried on my wedding dress!!! I didn't have a melty happy cry omgifoundmydress tv moment. I just felt empowered and so strong and sexy and ready to kick butt!! Best feeling ever 🙂

That's funny… I kept thinking about you when I was watching the basketball finals and wondering if you cared if the Cavs won at all… Alas… I am from the Bay and as a result have blocked Sunday night out of my consciousness forever.

And this dress is amazing and you are totally right to keep it in your collection. Also what lip color are you rocking here?

Kaylah June 22, 2016 - 9:39 pm

Hah! I'm not huge on sports in general but I will always root for my home team, no matter how terrible we are *coughTheBrownscough*. We walked downtown to catch the last quarter being played outside for everyone. It was seriously so amazing. The energy was just incredible. I definitely cried! Everyone was hugging and high fiving. It was easily one of the best nights ever. To see so many people of all different walks of life finally just getting along and being happy together is moving!

When you said it was too short I was like "No suh!" and then I went back and really had to squint to see that the slip was significantly shorter. Overall it's a good length on you though! I'm glad you came to love it! Also I am totally the same way about my hair. That's why I dye it so I don't cut it. I've been growing mine for 5 years and when i get the urge I just get bangs or something.

Kaylah June 22, 2016 - 9:40 pm

Oh yeah, if the slip were longer it would absolutely be the perfect length but it catches the breeze and whooop there's my butt because someone thought a slip that was five inches shorter was a good idea!

Aww that dress is really cute on you. Glad you're finding a way to keep it because it's cute af.
Also f*** yeah the Cavs! The city was on fire that night. I loved every second of it.

Kaylah June 22, 2016 - 9:40 pm

YESSS. I hope you got a chance to high five EVERYONE. I loved seeing everyone so happy.

Justine Arreche June 22, 2016 - 9:46 pm

I was outside in my pajamas with a bottle of wine in my hands and all my neighbors were basically the same, only with cavs gear on instead of jam-jams. I for sure cried. Not because I really love sports all that much but because this is Cleveland and it meant so much for the city! Definitely an incredible evening! Pretty happy I work from home and not downtown today. The photos on twitter looked nuts.

Same, I saw someone else crying when there was like 30 seconds left in the game which made me tear up but when we won and I saw a grown man cry I lost it. We walked around downtown after the win and everyone was just glowing. It was so amazing. Seeing that many happy people is an amazing feeling.

I stayed home today too. I thought about heading out but kind of felt like I already got my fill of crowds for a while. Listening to the police scanner now, aaaand I'm glad I'm not out there. Hope everyone stays safe. The police definitely seem overwhelmed.

You look amazing, that dress is so beautiful.
I love the pattern and it looks quite light & summery too!
Also, that bear pin. ADORABLE.

I love this look and I love that your hair is getting longer! Though you probably have to buy a lot more dye now 😉
It has been 2+ years but I still feel like I'm growing out my pixie cut (ha! so NOT the case anymore)… it's just so strange to have short hair for so long and next thing you know, you're a long haired gal! I've actually been growing mine out so that I can get a perm soon! That sounds so crazy, but I want to have the experience of having amazingly voluminous hair at least once in my life. It feels sooooo long right now, but it still has a long way to go before I can perm it 😉

Kaylah June 24, 2016 - 12:27 pm

No, seriously, I've been wanting a perm for SO LONG. I'm terrified though because I don't want to ruin my hair. It's so hard to find any information on it though and I have no idea how to find someone that understands exactly what I want. I don't want someone to agree to do it and end up messing it up.

If you get one, you have to blog all about it. Before pictures, after pictures, all the deets! I'm so interested.

Marine June 24, 2016 - 9:33 pm

Oh I most definitely will!! I trust my hairdresser, she hasn't done me wrong, and she's super excited about it. I would be concerned about your hair though, because of everything you already put it through. I don't do anything to my hair, I don't even blow dry it! I'm even nervous because my ends are still bleached from way-back-when.

Sarah Albertson June 24, 2016 - 10:06 pm

That dress is incredible! I love it so much. I noticed your hair was getting longer. I have had short hair for a couple years but am now starting to grow it out super long. Like I want it down to mid waist. But I am really impatient and want it in a style NOW, so I keep wanting to cut it. One thing I am super excited about is being able to put it in a ponytail again! That's something I really took for granted before I cut it all off..
