fox pups – 2 months old

by Kaylah Stroup

Memorial Day weekend I went out to my parents to visit and of course, had to snag some photos of the fox pups. They were nearly two months old at the time of these photos and boy, they have grown leaps and bounds since I last saw them.

There are five of them, three black and two red. It will forever be so weird to me that this happens when animals have babies. They don’t look like siblings at all! I think everyone in my family would agree that the red ones are theeee cutest. Clearly that’s not to say the other aren’t cute but there’s just something about the red ones! My dad has taken a liking to one in particular which he has named Sally-Ann.

I feel like these little guys are a lot friendlier than Lady and Tramp were at this age. When my dad placed them in the fenced in area with me they were all skeptical to leave their box but quickly warmed up. They darted around, jumping and tumbling with each other. They weren’t too skittish with me unless I moved too quickly, otherwise they were more than happy to run across my legs and let me pet them. So so so fuzzy!!!

Just like their parents, the pups were very curious about dogs. Below you can see my brother’s dog, Max, and Midnight, the only fox without a white tipped tail, sharing a moment. SO sweet. I bet the fox pups would love to wrestle with him!

And that’s my fox update for today. I’ll be sure to share more photos as soon as possible!
xoxo

If you’d like to see more of these little guys; their first appearance on the blog in April + again in May with their eyes finally open!

Just a note to add that foxes definitely aren’t for everyone. They
require a lot of work, care, and attention. Not to mention in most
states they are illegal to keep as pets unless you have a license. They
are very cute, obviously, but aren’t exactly ideal pets. Please do your research!

Oh my God I'm dying here <3 they're so cute! But I must say,I couldn't keep them as pets – here in Portugal I always see them as wild animals, and I really think they belong there. But as long as they're happy – and they clearly are! – I'm happy, we're all happy 🙂

Hehe! They're a lot of work (they also really really smell) but my parents care for them dearly. 🙂

I know, isn't that cute!? I assume they'll get more and more silver in the face as time goes on, just like their momma.

What will your dad do with all of /adopt them outthem? I mean, does he sell them, or is he building up a pack?!

Right now they're all just pets. I'm not sure what the end goal is, other than just to have lots of critters to love! 😛

cuteness overload! I think i actually like the black ones more, but that's pretty consistent with my personality. when we got our kelpie she was about of a huge litter that had red pups and black pups. We choice the black and named her Malakai. what a wonderful way to spend the holiday!!!Yay!

Isn't that soooo cute? I took a ton of photos of them like that because they kept moving all around like that, squishing their little heads out that little hole.

They're all so adorable! I'll never get tired of reading your fox / animal updates! Keep them coming! 🙂

they are ADORABLE. time to some research so I can get one <3

They are really cute but I can't stress enough how much work they are and that they're not really suitable pets for 99% of people. I would never recommend them to anyone.

They are so cute! Apparently a lot of people have foxes as pets in Russia, and I mentioned that your family has some as well!

Kaylah June 3, 2016 - 11:16 am

That's weird but somehow I'm not shocked! A fox seems like a very Russian pet.
