Foxy Lady + Tramp : Part Five

by Kaylah Stroup

It’s been since late August that I shared photos of my parent’s foxes, Lady and Tramp, and even then it was only photos of Lady since Tramp was exercising his dominance. So, it’s really been quite a while since you’ve seen his handsome face. I’ve said it in every previous post, and I’ll most likely continue to say it in future posts but daaaaang, they’ve changed so much! The most striking change, to me at least, is Tramp’s colors! Not only is his face silver, his red is so vibrant now. As a pup he was more yellow-ish in color and now as my niece exclaimed upon seeing him “he looks like a real fox!” Haha!

They’re just as crazy as ever. I took SO many photos of them, partly because I really had no idea if I was getting anything good. They move so quickly! They are just wild lil things. Darting back and forth, diving into the grass, and hopping on top of each other. Looking through my photos yesterday I noticed that I barely saved any of the first half, the goods one were all toward the end and that was because that was when they finally burned off some of their energy and slowed down.

Had to include this ridiculous photo, just a tangle of wresting foxes.

Something kind of random that I can’t get over is how weird foxes look when they pant. Of course, in the photos I decided to share you only see this once. (Lady in the third photo) They open their mouths up so wide! It reminds me of Barbara in Beetlejuice when her and Adam try to scare the Deetz family. I think it’s something you might just have to see in person to understand but the whole time I was taking these I was just thinking “your mouth is so weird!” Even with Beetlejuice mouths, these guys are still the some of the cutest things I have ever had the pleasure of photographing. They are so soft, and those fluffy tails are just the best. It breaks my heart they don’t want to snuggle with me as much as I want to snuggle with them.

You can find previous posts on Lady and Tramp here – June, late June, July, and August. The last photo in the first post gets me every time. I cannot believe that tiny little thing sleeping in my lap is the same creature in the photos above. I am still so excited to watch them continue to grow!
 xoxo

Just a note to add that foxes definitely aren’t for everyone. They
require a lot of work, care, and attention. Not to mention in most
states they are illegal to keep as pets unless you have a license. Please do your research!

I had no idea foxes got that big!

Kaylah October 14, 2015 - 2:12 pm

Really? I still think they're pretty small. I'm not sure they're grow too much more but definitely a bit more.

For whatever reason I always pictured them being more Chihuahua size. I also haven't seen one in real life so I have no idea where that idea came from 🙂

Wow, they've both grown so much! They're so beautiful. Your photos of them are all gorgeous, too, especially the 2nd and 4th from the top.

That 4th one kills me. Such a sweet little face.

So much cuteness! I love the Beetlejuice reference too-I had to go back and look at it again after you said that-and she totally does look like that!!! That's awesome!

Haha! Isn't that hilarious? When it hit me what it reminded me of I couldn't stop laughing.

Holy crap they've changed so much!! I think the biggest change is that Ladys baby snout was so rounded, so panda-like, almost. Her nose has definitely grown to look like a fox, now! Wow. I know your dad is building that enclosure for them — is it heated so that they will live in there all year round? Also maybe this is kind of a silly question, but since they have such regular human contact with your parents, do they have to get any vaccines that dogs do or any preventative treatments like for heart worms or ticks? Just curious. I love these posts!!! 🙂 I'm absolutely blown away by the stunning photos you get knowing how quickly they move! <3

Right!? I wasn't convinced she was a fox when I first saw her. It's incredible how much she's changed.

I'm honestly not sure. That's their arena, I'm just here to take pictures! 😛

Huh she just looks like my dog when he pants. Maybe because my dog is more closely related than ones youre used to. Both he and my in laws dog open their mouths to their ears.

Kaylah October 17, 2015 - 9:24 pm

Hmm, I guess all the dogs I know don't pant with their mouths that wide.
