We had a random warm day last week. Not warm enough that I was brave enough to get on my bike which is what I'm really dying to do, but warm enough that my first thought was "outfit photos!" I drove to my favorite new place to shoot only to find I couldn't park there. Despite it being "warm" (yeah, high twenties isn't actually warm) there was still snow on the ground and there were massive piles of plowed snow where I normally pull off. My car is kind of a weenie in the snow so I didn't risk getting stuck. I wasn't going to waste a warm day though, I was determined to shoot. I drove around for at least an hour. I kept thinking of all these awesome places, only to get shut down because I couldn't park. I was just about to give up when I spotted this building. I was able to park close, and finally get my photos.

It's funny because a year ago when I moved to Cleveland and was struggling with places to shoot I said something about how no matter what I'd never be someone who was comfortable shooting outfit photos on the sidewalk. While this was in a little more secluded area, it was still in the city, on the sidewalk and there were most definitely people driving and walking (eeeep!!!) past. It probably doesn't sound like a huge deal but this is a big victory for me.

I'm curious to see where I'll be in another year. Maybe I'll actually be good at parking my car. Haha!

  4. Loving the boots, the bag, and the coat. Like a lot. And way to go shooting your photos out around people. You are far braver than I. If I see one person looking at me when I'm taking my photos, I get all sorts of embarrassed (something I should probably get over, haha).

  5. Heck yeah girl, you can do it! 💪
I often get old men who literally just stop walking and stand there and stare at me the entire time I'm taking photos of myself on the sidewalk. It's desensitised me to normal people just walking past and giving me a casual curious glance, haha.

    1. Oh man, I'm so sad that emoji doesn't show up anymore. It showed up in moderation before it was approved.

Hahah, old men are the weirdest.

  8. Love the outfit! Your coat is perfection, and your pins are amazing as usual.
Parking puts me right on the struggle bus, I will go out of my way to avoid parking in weird places, or just get someone to drive me to the places without designated parking.

    1. Thanks, Kayla.

I'm just so terrified of getting a ticket for parking in a wrong spot. It's not even like it would be the end of the world. It just stresses me out. I'm looking forward to warmer weather so I can be on my bike instead and not have to worry about parking.

  9. That necklace is PERFECTION. So great! You look fabulous. I'm glad you're getting over taking your photos in places where people are around. When I first started my photography business, I even felt a little awkward taking photos of my clients when people were around.

Oh, I totally get that. Sometimes I get shy about taking photos of anything with other people around.

  13. Your style is just awesome. You just have this really fun and simple but wild style. I guess it's because some pieces are toned down like the jeans and the unprinted top. Then you add up really cool pieces like that coat and your pins, plus your hair. It all just works for you.

Love the bright contrasting buttons on the coat too!
