Cleveland Snow Day

by Kaylah Stroup
On Monday we had a major snow day. I didn’t have any where to go and even if I did, it wasn’t going to happen. My car was buried! Not only that but since I share a driveway with my downstairs neighbor I always pull into my driveway really far back so it would have taken me ages to shovel my way out which would have only lead to me getting stuck somewhere down the road. It was ROUGH outside. I worked, cleaned, did laundry, and made a delicious lunch all before ten so I decided to get out and explore my new neighborhood.

I’ve been living here for a little bit less than a month but I already feel way more at home here than I ever did in my five years in Geneva or year in Lakewood. The homes are beautiful, the people are friendly and daaaang, it’s going to be fun to bike this spring. It wasn’t until I got home that I realized I took a two hour walk. It was just such an awesome time. Walking in the snow is awful tiring but it was more than worth it to get a peek at my new neighborhood covered in snow.

I’m really excited to get out and explore the area even more. I seem to have a habit of pushing things off until spring which is just plain silly, especially in Ohio. There’s so much to see in the winter. It’s not just the beach that’s beautiful this time of the year. Here’s to more long walks in the snow by myself and not using snow days as an excuse to be lazy.

 xoxo

Gorgeous photos. The snow, however bitter the cold is, is beautiful. I love the through-the-fence shots. Dreamy.

Thanks! I love the through-the-fence shots too. I actually took way more of them than I thought had had to choose only my favorite to share just so it wouldn't be obnoxious.

So crazy to me how different the weather is on the other side of the US. We're currently getting blasted with another round of snow right now.

Loving the glimpses into your daily life. Also the houses in your neighborhood are so colorful but against the snow they really pop

O my goodness! Look at all of this snow!!! It looks so wonderfully beautiful. I just adore the GIF as well. Perfection! x

Kaylah February 5, 2015 - 12:19 am

Thanks! I would have loved to make a GIF of snow falling in front of the orange house but I still feel a little bit weird about taking photos of people's homes so I was trying to be quick. 😛

I love when the world is painted white with snow, how differently everything look. That house, for example, is so bright and cheery against all the white. I do not like how dirty it makes my white car look though lol ><

Kaylah February 5, 2015 - 12:22 am

Haha, same! Although my car is currently buried under snow so I wouldn't really know! 😛

Your new neighborhood does indeed look lovely! I'm so jealous, I wish we had snow that actually didn't melt after a few hours…

Kaylah February 5, 2015 - 12:22 am

I couldn't imagine living somewhere without snow now that I've lived with it my whole life.

I'm a Lakewood girl myself, but I love Ohio City! Where'd you find that welcome to Cleveland sign?

Kaylah February 5, 2015 - 12:23 am

It's on the sign of a closed down gas station. It actually just says "Welcome to" and then Marathon is pained over in yellow so I added Cleveland.

There are SO MANY colorful homes in my neighborhood. I love it. I'll have to get out and photograph more of them while it's all pretty and white outside.

Elif February 4, 2015 - 10:12 pm

Your neighborhood has beautiful houses and their colors look great with snow! We had snow this year for two days maybe and the funny thing is they called it a snow day for kids and it didn't even snow that day (it started to snow the next day). Snow is just playing with us haha.

Kaylah February 5, 2015 - 12:32 am

Hah! Weather people never really know what's going on! 😛

Elif February 5, 2015 - 9:32 pm

Our weather people look (up) to your weather people 😀

These are such beautiful photos! I had a snow day today but decided to not lave the house at all ahaha. Clearly yours was much more productive than mine!

It would be so incredible to see snow like this one day. You must have had such a lovely time exploring and I love the pictures you have taken. I can't imagine how tiring it must have been walking through the snow though!
