gratuitous nature photos

Tuesday, June 03, 2014

Just a post filled with nature photos because even though in the last few months my life has changed drastically, it's not all just abandoned buildings and bikes rides for me. I'm still enjoying nature, escaping to parent's property, and scoping out all the beautiful parks near my new place.

See those little yellow things in the photo up there? Did you realize those were spiders? I really love spiders, they don't bother me one bit as long as I know they're there (meaning a spider randomly crawling on me without my knowledge probably will make me squeal) but seeing all those little guys moving around made my skin crawl. I'm so disappointed I didn't have my macro lens with me that day so I could get a super close up shot of them. I've got my fingers crossed I find more.

  1. Ahhhh this post is heavenly! I'm obsessed with mushrooms and ferns at the moment so this is right up my street. Your photos are great! Toads and frogs are rather beautiful and interesting when you really look at them, they have such amazing golden eyes.

  3. That's a lot of tiny spiders! Much cuter than the quarter-sized beast I rescued from my shower yesterday.

  6. Ohmy! I was thinking, I should ask on the comments what the yellow little things are because they look like insects (for their distribution on the leaf), glad that you explained it! I like spiders, not that I want them at home ;) but I like to admire them on our walks.

  9. I'm the exact same way about spiders. I'm fine getting up close or handling them (they make excellent little subjects to photograph!), but if one surprises me...man oh man...I freak out. I was woken up once by what I thought was a strand of hair blowing on my face...and then I felt it run across my entire face. Needless to say...I had a major freak out moment haha! I love your nature photos so much by the way! Thanks for sharing!

  12. Gorgous pictures. the colours are so vivid! Wish my camera would take vivid photos. I tried to capture mating frogs in spring but they were so well camoflaged they hardly showed up on the pics!
