I can't help but think wearing so many stripes must be wrong. But it looks oh so good. Guess I've never been one to be subtle in my fashion choices though, why start now? Haha!

This was the first of three crop tops I bought for this summer. I just couldn't resist picking it up despite not yet knowing what I'd wear with it. I love that my jackalope peeks out. It actually kind of makes me think of my mom whenever I wear it. One of the conditions of her letting me get my bellybutton pierced when I was thirteen was that I not starting wearing shirts to show it off. That, of course, was never even an issue. I've never really been one to show off much skin. Something about this crop top though!!

The weather has been crazy lately. By crazy I mean it's basically just been storming constantly. I had planned to get up super early and go take outfit pictures before it got too hot out but by the time I was ready to leave it was pouring. I decided to head out and run some errands anyway. It stopped raining just around the time I finished up so I booked it over to my new favorite spot. I managed to shoot the outfit without a single drop falling from the sky. As soon as I got back to my car the sky fell. Pretty awesome timing, huh?! I'm hoping these storms don't last too long though. I want to get in the habit of a few times a week waking up early to go shoot an outfit and then going on a bike ride. Those are two things I want to do lots and lots of but not in the summer heat.

Hope you're having a wonderful week!

  1. Whoa. I'm amazed the crop top and skirt aren't part of a two-piece dress. They're not even the same brand! You nailed it.

It's probably a rare occasion that you get to show off the belly tat in outfits too, huh?

  2. Your hair is gorgeous! And I'm loving the subtle tattoo show off with the crop top! All around cuteness :)

  3. Wow, it's awesome the way those two pieces match so perfectly, even though they're from different places, it's like they were meant to be :)

  4. stripes are always a good choice :D and this outfit looks so good on u!

  5. That patch from Bad Asteroid is awesome!

  6. You look absolutely amazing! I love anything black and white. And the way you fancied up that jacket is super rad!

  7. Aw man, that crop top makes your tattoos look amazing! And I know exactly what you mean about the storms, here in Illinois it's been storming at least once a day!

  9. Looking good, girl! I really dig the new outfit location, too. :)

  10. LOVE that you are rocking the belly tat in these photos. I got my belly button pierced at fifteen and had to strike a similar bargain. And, as someone else mentioned, very impressive that you made the top and skirt match perfectly from two different stores.

  11. Too many stripes? NEVER. I love the crop top look and son't worry too much about showing skin-- but I'm just not the right shape for them, myself. Ah well! I can admire the people they look good one-- like you!

Thought I'd mention that your hair is fading gorgeously! I love watching the how unnatural hair color fades! It's often just as lovely as when it's vibrant!

  12. I love it! I haven't been able to figure out how to style crop tops yet, but you do it so well! I especially love the jackalope peeking out, probably my favorite part of the outfit. Hehe.

  13. I bought these nail stickers, after reading some of your posts. But I never get my nails as precise and pretty as you. Kudoos to you!
