petbox review

Tuesday, April 22, 2014

PetBox recently sent over one of their subscription boxes for all my critters to try out. If you've never heard of PetBox, they're a premium monthly delivery service for dogs and cats that is dedicated to sniffing out the best in pet products for their customers. The best part is that you can decide what goes in your personalized PetBox if you'd like, or it can be a surprise. During sign up, you fill out a pet profile that is designed to help you receive products that are tailored to the needs of your dog or cat. By adding multiple pet profiles you'll be able to get a box that includes items for all your animals.

Not only do your animals get an awesome box of goodies, for each order that goes out the doors, PetBox sends out huge shipments of dog and cat food to animal rescue organizations across the United States.
I got the box late in the afternoon, opened it and marveled at all that was inside but didn't give anything to my critters since I hadn't had a chance to photograph it yet. I left it on my desk overnight, planning to photograph it the next morning. When I woke up all of the cat items were scattered around my house. Some little kitty just couldn't wait to get into everything. I guess that's a pretty good sign, right?
Our box came with all kinds of goodies! Treats for both Klaus and the cats, and lots of cat toys. Klaus is a destroyer of toys so I'm actually glad this box didn't have any dog toys in it. The cat toys it came with are a hit though, especially that banana filled with cat nip. It's hilarious to see Professor carrying it around, Squid kicking it with her back legs, and of course, Klaus stealing it and giving me that guilty "but mom..." look.

One of the things I liked most about the box was that it included things I wouldn't necessarily buy. For example, the SuperCat catnip cave. I rolled my eyes so hard at this product when I opened the box but the cats, on the other hand, are OBSESSED. They've woken me up on multiple nights playing in it!
I think this is the first time I've actually been super super stoked about a subscription box. I'm a picky person, so most of the time I might only find one thing I like but I'm really excited about everything that was in this box, and so are my animals. PetBox gets two paws up from me.

  2. This looks like such a brilliant subscription box! It's a shame we don't really get them as easily here in the UK or I would be all over this one as well!

(Is that a catnip mushroom I spy in the first photo!?)

  3. Ohhhh nice! If my cats and dog were closer to me (they live in Virginia with the parents and I live in Pittsburgh), I'd totally spring for this! I primarily keep rodents at my new home, so if they ever add toys for rats, I'd be all over it!

That first picture is so priceless! Such a look of "For ME??" haha!

  7. I live in Canada but when I was researching pet boxes this one looked super cool! I love that you can choose the products you get and that you can get both cat and dog items. As it is I'm signed up for BarkBox and MeowBox and both have been very well received in my house. ;) In fact, one of the dog toys I got might work for Klaus! We got the SafeMade Biggie Bone and it's made of tough silicone and it's oven, dishwasher and freezer safe so you can actually bake treats right inside. Anyway, my strong chewer hasn't made a dent in it and she loves it so I would highly recommend. ;)

  8. Aww the photos of your cats are just too cute! I'm thinking of maybe getting a cat (from the pound) to keep my pig company but I'm still debating all the pros and cons and posts like these make me want a cat so bad! I also think the name Professor is perfection.

  9. Ooh I wish they did something like this in the UK. My kitties would go absolutely potty for one of these! Professor Stingray is such a beautiful cat. My mum has a Burmese and although they don't have those gorgeous bright blue Siamese eyes, the colouring is very similar. Is he as noisy as Burmese cats tend to be though? Leo (my mum's) yowls constantly! x
