abandoned school // part two - The Dainty Squid

abandoned school // part two

Thursday, April 24, 2014

Last week I shared some photos, which you can find here, from a recent adventure with Jesi. I'm back today with another post full of photos from the abandoned school.
One of my favorite things about the school, although these photos don't necessarily show it the best, is how colorful the rooms were. Graffiti aside, that first room up there is a light orange with blue doors, another room was bright blue! And the textures, don't even get me started on the textures! Why is the look of paint peeling like that so interesting!?

One more post from this school coming up next week, it's my favorite of the three. Can't wait to share!

  1. Man, keep it up! These photos are so fascinating! Abandoned places are really interesting-- especially ones like these that are so full of artifacts to paint a picture of the people that once roamed around there!

I think my favorite picture is the overturned chair.

  3. Peeling paint is the best. Especially when you get 5 or so bright colours peeling off each other. I don't "understand" the aesthetic appeal myself, but I love it all the same!

Someone totally failed on that quote though. It's Alice Cooper, not Pink Floyd!

  4. Just amazing. Your shots are so good girl! I think you should get a photography book made of your adventures. SERIOUSLY! I'd buy it and keep it on my coffee table. You inspire me to bring my camera more often!
(but really? bowling pins in a school? JEALOUS of those kids!)

  7. I almost wish someone had went all Harry Potter and written "I must not tell lies" on the chalkboard. But alas. It makes me sad to see this too. At some point, a lot of money was put into that building and now it is just in shambles.
