It's impossible for me to pass up a striped dress. This one at Target was calling my name as I walked by with a gift card in hand. I was initially a bit skeptical because of the longer length. But after I tried it on I knew it was coming home with me. It's so cozy and no matter how much I like my dresses a bit shorter it's always nice to not have to worry about showing people my undies when I bend over. Hah! When I went to grab a link for the dress on Target's website I saw they have a polka dot one too. ....must.... resist..... temptation...

Hope you have a lovely Thursday! Looks like it's going to be another rainy one here.

lots of Lloyd

Wednesday, June 26, 2013

I just wanted to share some photos of my favorite stray today. Lloyd is seriously the sweetest little dude. Nearly everyday when I open the back door on to the deck he magically appears, begging for food and some scratches on the back. It's like he sits and waits somewhere until he hears the door open. The way he runs up to me just to weave between my legs or flop down at my feet melts my heart. He's also a complete ham for the camera which automatically makes any animal a real good friend of mine!
I have some good news about him too! I've been talking with someone interested in giving this little kitty a furrrever home. I am so so so happy to know he's going to have a somewhere warm and cozy to sleep every night and someone to give him lots of love every day. It's a bit selfish but I'm not at all ashamed to admit I'm going to miss this little dude... A LOT. Luckily we still have a little while together before everything is figured out so I still get to hang out with him everyday for another month or so.

what I wore : hunting for bigfoot

How great is this shirt!? I've been stalking it on Modcloth for a while now and when it was finally available in my size I snatched it up right away. Crypotozoology, if you're not familiar, literally translates to the study of hidden animals. While I'm not necessarily sure I believe in Bigfoot, aliens or the Loch Ness monster I sure think they're interesting. Bonus points for the shirt having a jackalope on it too, I love jackalopes! (hence the giant one tattooed on my stomach which I coincidentally just finished up over the weekend.) And to make it even better, the shirt is glow in the dark too. I'm not sure what this recently obsession with glow in the dark things is but it's fun!

These shoes are something else. I absolutely had to have them the second I saw them, there was no hesitation at all. I love all those straps. Plus I'm pretty sure you can't go wrong with a pair of black flats, they match everything. But the first day I wore them out I got what were literally the gnarliest blisters I have ever seen on each of my baby toes. The weirdest thing is that they never really hurt while I was wearing them but when I got home and took them off I discovered these massive, literally the size of my whole toe, blisters. I'm determined not to give up on these shoes though. Toughen up tootsies, you've got cute shoes to wear!

Hope you're having an awesome Tuesday!

baby bunnies!

Monday, June 24, 2013

Some bunnies have recently hopped their way into my life and best of all the female was pregnant. So, needless to say, I've been spending my days melting over baby bunnies. They're so stinken' cute, I can barely handle it. I had no idea how quickly they'd grow up. They're finally starting to look more like bunnies instead of little hippos now. I can't wait for their eyes to open and for them to actually sit like rabbits instead of just acting like little wiggle worms. But let's not get carried away here, here they are in their first week of life...
 one day old
 two days old
 three days old
 four days old
 five days old
six days old
seven days old

And here's momma!
Hope you're having a fabulous day! I think baby bunnies can probably brighten anyone's day, right?
xoxo

Just thought I should add a disclaimer since it was brought up when I posted a peek of the babies on instagram - Momma Bunny does not mind one bit when the babies are handled. She won't stop feeding them and she won't be feeding on them. ;)

Spring Goals Recap 2013

Saturday, June 22, 2013

Yesterday was the first day of Summer! Wahooo! I'm super stoked for lots of sun filled days spent at the beach and exploring outdoors. But first, lets take a look back at Spring. In March I made a short list of spring goals I'd like to accomplish. You can find the post here. I completed most of them but there are a few I maybe, kind of, glossed over. I really love making lists and more than that I love looking back at what I accomplished and even what I didn't to see how things have progressed and changed over time.
Spring Goals 2013 recap!
Press lots of flowers. Done! I pressed lots of flowers, leaves and random assorted plants. Most of what I pressed was on the small-ish side, things that fit in my pocket sized moleskine so I guess one way I could improve on this goal for the summer time is to press larger things. But I definitely did press lots of flowers, goal accomplished!

Practice macro photography. I think this might be the one goal I failed the hardest at. I played with my macro attachments one time out of the whole season. I guess I just kind of forgot because it certainly is still something I want to do. I'll definitely try to put forth more of an effort this summer.

Take more photos of daily life. Yes and no. I did take more photos of daily life things but I didn't take as many I had planned on taking. I want to continue to work on this goal because I think it's really important.

Drive as often as possible. Yeah buddy! I'm not sure if I even had a goal of when I'd like to get my license by, except before the end of the year but I've certainly done my fair share of driving. It's incredible the progress I've made. I was just driving home alone from my parents the other day with my windows down, my music up and my arm out the window wondering why in the world I waited so long. I seriously love driving.

Start taking daily walks. Eeep. I did not do this one. Well, actually let me rephrase that, I did not do what I had in mind which was walks around my neighborhood. Since getting my license I have taken lots of walks at the beach. I visit at least twice a week to walk around, look for beach glass and just watch the waves.

Read outside on warm days. I did this a few times but I definitely need to do it a few more times before the cold weather comes again. Reading in the sunshine is the best, it feels so good.

Get the family together for an evening at the park. We have not done this yet but I definitely see it happening soon. (Do I get to half cross this off for going to the park with my niece? Because that was a blast!)
Here's to a great Summer!
