October in Review

Saturday, November 09, 2013

October is over and we are well into the second to last month of the year. That's insane! Anyway, October was pretty darn great. Perhaps one of my favorites so far this year. Lets take a look back...

a few of my favorite posts from October...

new (to me) movies & TV shows I watched this month:
Kuffs. How long has this been on Netflix!?! I'm always checking for Christian Slater movies on there so I was so stoked to finally be able to watch this one.
Out on a Limb.
The Man with Half a Body.
Movie 43.
I also watched a ton of stand up comedy in October. The majority of it was awful but I LOVED Josh Blue : Sticky Change and Iliza Shlesinger: War Paint.

songs on repeat:
• Whirlwind - Xenia Rubinos
• 21st Century Pop Song - Hymie's Basement
• Loot My Body - Man Man
• Skeleton - Astronautalis
PS. If you want to see what else I'm listening to, you can find me on last fm here!

exciting happenings online and off:
• I went to Cedar Point for the very first time ever with Mickey! It poured the rain down the first half of the day but we still managed to ride a bunch of roller coasters and have a complete blast. We also managed to lose her car in the parking lot for over an hour... Haha!
I did lots of traveling. Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Columbus, Philadelphia. Somewhere new nearly every weekend. I'm both making up for lost time (I've had my license for less than six months!) and trying to get some of this traveling out of my system before the snow come and my trips are limited.
• I saw my favorite band twice in one week, that's certainly exciting!!

Here's to making November just as great!
xoxo

  1. Oh my goodness! I haven't seen Kuffs in years. I used to love that movie & watch it all the time. In fact, when I first saw Mila Jovovich in The Fifth Element, I recognized her as Kuffs girlfriend.

Now I have the sudden urge to watch it again.

  2. I forgot to mention this when you first posted about it, but it's really admirable that you drove in Pittsburgh when you're such a new driver. Pittsburgh has an infamously difficult road layout. When I moved here from Virginia, I was always so nervous driving around (didn't help that I was already a nervous driver). Now I can drive anywhere in the city, for the most part, and driving back home in Virginny is certainly way easier!

    1. I've always found Pittsburgh to be fairly easy to drive in. The first time I went was very shortly after I got my license, like within the first month or two and I was terrified because driving is so relaxed where I live and that was the first city I drove in but it ended up being WAY less stressful that I imagined. I think the trick was that I basically psyched myself out about it and when it came right down to it it wasn't as bad as I had made it up to be so I handled it very well.

  4. Mercat!!
Congrats on getting your license and taking all those trips. Its a major deal to drive in big cities like that when you are a new driver---well done!

  5. You should check out a movie called Armless. I think you would like it! Its about a guy who wants to have his arms amputated and its really respectful and sensitive to the topic.

  7. Love the post! And I love seeing what you've recently watched as I always find new favourites from your list!
I love that you saw Man Man twice. My favourite band is coming to play near me and since they never ever do, I bought tickets to see them twice in one week and I could not be more excited!!! :)

  8. When I was a kid I never understood why people always said the year had gone by so fast. Now that I'm almost 30 I'm getting it. It's November now, and New Year's was just yesterday. Anyway, looks like you had a fun month! I really like those books.

  10. I've been in that cedar point parking lot many, many times and I totally know how you would lose a car there. I've always been worried about that!
