The Professor turns THREE today!

Thursday, June 06, 2013

Today Professor Stingray, my youngest, turns three. It blows my mind he's been in my life for so long already. He's, without a doubt, one of the best things to ever happen to me and I thank my lucky stars everyday he ended up in my life.
If you haven't been around since he first showed up here's a little bit of a recap for you. My parents live in the middle of nowhere, and one evening my mom spotted the tiniest little Siamese kitty walking in the driveaway. Knowing that was my dream cat, she scooped him up and brought him over to my house so I could say hi and take some pictures before taking him to her boss at the time who had a cat rescue.
(look what a sad sight he was. this was the morning after my mom brought him over.)

I was falling in love from the second I saw him but had no intention of bringing another cat into my life. After hanging out with him for a day it was  time to take him up to where my mom worked to give him to her boss. After getting there I texted my mom to see where she was. She responded she had the day off and to just go find her boss. I think this might have been the only time in my life when being sickeningly shy actually worked in my favor. I decided to take him home with me because there was noooo way I was going to talk to her boss all alone. On the way home I stopped off at my parents to chat with my mom and it was there I made the decision to keep him if his tests all came back clean.

Nearly three years later this little dude still puts a smile on my face everyday. After I first "officially" adopted him I did lots of little update posts on him, his recovery (had worms, ear mites and a nasty upper respiratory infection) and how he was getting along with the other three. It's so much fun to look back at those posts and see he's still exactly the same cat just a little bigger and a lot darker. He still loves to nuzzle and is still by far the best cuddler I've ever met! He still makes the most adorable little noises, especially in the kitchen for some reason. And my favorite, he still loves to sniff my breath.
Here are a few of my favorite pictures of the little stinker from the last three years. They aren't in any order but it should be pretty easy to tell which ones are the oldest by how light his face was. He's still progressively getting darker and darker.
A few of my favorite posts featuring Professor Stingray...
Kitty Video - the cutest video of The Professor vs. the mirror.
It's the little things... like making silly GIFs of your cat.
The ever growing Professor - just an update on my now healthy, growing kitten.
Reason #2745 I love cats -maybe he is a meerkat?
It's the little things... like walking into the bedroom and finding this kittenfest.

Happy Birthday little guy! I'm so glad you're mine.
xoxo

  8. Ahhh! I can't believe he's really that old now! I just got a cute overload with this post. It's funny how Siamese cats tend to have similar behaviors - my baby did all the same things you describe in various posts; clicking, sleeping under covers, trying to jump in the oven, she even played fetch like a dog! Love this post, my favorite is tiny Professor on your shoulder; true love!

  9. What a cutie! Love the photo of kitten-him on your shoulder. My Jager used to climb my jean legs while I was standing just to sit on my shoulder - I wish I had thought to get a photo of it.

  15. He is super adorable. May god bless him and all your other cats. I'm happy to know he is a healthy and happy cat. I just had to put my 11 month old kitty to sleep last night because he had a heart disease that I did not know about. It was the worst experience ever, but at least he is no longer suffering. May Professor Stingray have many many many more years to come.

I have two ragdolls and apparently they aren't very different from Siamese cats. I am told they're fully coloured after 3 or 4 years.

    Happy birthday to the Professor!

  27. Wow. Talk about to cute for your boots... I adore cats too and would have a house full of them -but alas only allowed 2.

On the train to work and having a bit of a teary moment with this. You obviously love the little fella, he is one lucky little dude. Wish I could save all the cats in the world.

  29. Happy B Day Professor! Hope you had a great day with your savior and had a great meal! You remember the cats from when I was young. We had like 3 siameses, and all (this is strange but by the time I had no vote on the matter) called Alfie ( like the serie). I would love to pet today :P
