Spring Goals Recap 2013

Saturday, June 22, 2013

Yesterday was the first day of Summer! Wahooo! I'm super stoked for lots of sun filled days spent at the beach and exploring outdoors. But first, lets take a look back at Spring. In March I made a short list of spring goals I'd like to accomplish. You can find the post here. I completed most of them but there are a few I maybe, kind of, glossed over. I really love making lists and more than that I love looking back at what I accomplished and even what I didn't to see how things have progressed and changed over time.
Spring Goals 2013 recap!
Press lots of flowers. Done! I pressed lots of flowers, leaves and random assorted plants. Most of what I pressed was on the small-ish side, things that fit in my pocket sized moleskine so I guess one way I could improve on this goal for the summer time is to press larger things. But I definitely did press lots of flowers, goal accomplished!

Practice macro photography. I think this might be the one goal I failed the hardest at. I played with my macro attachments one time out of the whole season. I guess I just kind of forgot because it certainly is still something I want to do. I'll definitely try to put forth more of an effort this summer.

Take more photos of daily life. Yes and no. I did take more photos of daily life things but I didn't take as many I had planned on taking. I want to continue to work on this goal because I think it's really important.

Drive as often as possible. Yeah buddy! I'm not sure if I even had a goal of when I'd like to get my license by, except before the end of the year but I've certainly done my fair share of driving. It's incredible the progress I've made. I was just driving home alone from my parents the other day with my windows down, my music up and my arm out the window wondering why in the world I waited so long. I seriously love driving.

Start taking daily walks. Eeep. I did not do this one. Well, actually let me rephrase that, I did not do what I had in mind which was walks around my neighborhood. Since getting my license I have taken lots of walks at the beach. I visit at least twice a week to walk around, look for beach glass and just watch the waves.

Read outside on warm days. I did this a few times but I definitely need to do it a few more times before the cold weather comes again. Reading in the sunshine is the best, it feels so good.

Get the family together for an evening at the park. We have not done this yet but I definitely see it happening soon. (Do I get to half cross this off for going to the park with my niece? Because that was a blast!)
Here's to a great Summer!
xoxo

  3. Don't know about spring goals but I feel I'd love to pick up a spider that big and not freak out. So scared of them! But I also find them quite mesmerising... So that can be my summer goal, overcoming little fears first and then maybe start overcoming the bigger ones :-) Thanks for the post.

  12. You did a lot better than me! I didn't really write out any spring goals, but a lot of my year goals I was hoping to have done by the end of spring and that totally didn't happen. I think working on budgeting my time might be the biggest one I need to work on so I CAN accomplish more goals!

  15. I have those same macro filters. So cheap yet so good! I usually make a monthly goal list and only cross off three or four things. I'm pretty sure this summer is going to be the best.

  19. I think driving to the beach is the thing I look forward to most when I finally start driving. I decided to suck it up and sign up for a AAA course, despite the fact that it will be full of teenagers. I know it will be helpful for my confidence, though!
