I seriously just love this outfit so so so much. It certainly seems to be a recurring theme for me to like outfits I wear this skirt with. It has to be my most worn piece of clothing currently residing in my closet. I thought I'd be safe by buying it in every color but now I'm kind of wishing I'd snagged two of it in black just so I'll have a brand new one when this when finally gets worn out...which hopefully won't be for a very very long time.

After these pictures were taken I headed to the bookstore to pick up Mary Roach's other new book, My Planet (it's a collection of articles from her Readers Digest column. I can't wait to start it!) As I was walking in I tripped over my own feet and the sole of one of my shoes came nearly all the way off. It was attached in the back by the tiniest little area so I had to walk around the store like I was in scuba fins. Thinking about it now, it's pretty hilarious. But at the time I was mortified. I wonder how many people noticed how ridiculous I was walking. Hah!

Hope you're having a great start to your week!
xoxo

PS. Say goodbye to my purple hair! On a whim Saturday I bleached it and set myself up with a beauuuutiful new color (and it's not blue!!)

  4. Really cute outfit. Very relieved to hear other people trip over their own feet- I manage this on an almost daily basis. I almost went flying this morning and must have made quite an impression in the cafe I had just entered!

It's funny that most people probably didn't notice your shoe mishap at all.

  10. Thanks for the heads up about the Mary Roach book! I read Stiff on your recommendation and loved it :D I just got "Why Is The Penis Shaped Like That" from the library, also on your recommendation, but haven't read it yet - loved the expression on the face of the lady at the circulation desk when I checked out though!

  12. OH MAN
I once had the entire sole of one of my converse high tops fall out. I was walking, head a weird *slap* and stepped off the heel of my shoe!! I was luckily at my university, spending the day working in our wardrobe, so I squeezed about half a tube of Gorilla Glue on the sole, placed it back on the shoe, and wrapped it up with duct tape (like, all of it, to get a good hold. I looked ridiculous). I guess you could call it "good as new", but ever since I have been weirdly afraid of it happening again!!

I have totally had to do that funny walk before when I broke a pair of sandals. It always makes me think of the Monty Python Ministry of Funny Walks skit, haha!
