My first photo an hour for the new year! Hooray! Here's my January 9th broken down hour by hour...
8 am // All dressed and ready for my mom to arrive!
How fabulous are these shoes! Found them for $5 at Gabriel Brothers. Score!
9 am // It always makes me giggle how the coffee cups from McDonalds look so happy.
McDonalds actually has surprisingly awesome peppermint hot chocolate! That's obviously what I was drinking since I'm not a coffee fan!
11 am // Already on our second thrift shop stop of the day!
12 pm // Quick break for lunch.
1 pm // Another thrift store!
2 pm // On our way back to my parents house.
The day started out quite dreary but it ended up being a beautiful, sunny day!
3 pm // I sorted out all our finds from the day. I got two skirts, three shirts, a hat and a duvet cover!
4 pm // Trimming my mom's cat's, Baby Kitty, nails.
How cute is that face?! Like "Do we really have to do this?"
5 pm // I learned that giant puppy dogs also like to play with laser pointers! This is Crum peeking his head out from under the stairs trying to get the little red dot.
If the perspective is confusing, I was standing on the top step looking down.
6 pm // After dinner we headed up to the garage for family woodshop night.
Yep, we're stillllll working on that shelvings. In my defense we only get to work on it at my parents once a week for an hour or so.
7 pm // Reading on the way home.
And that was my day! xoxo

Love this post and your shoes !
ReplyDeleteThe picture of Crum is hilarious! I haven't seen any posts about that shelving, but I'd love to see how it turns out.

What a great thrift store find. I love paint by numbers. I haven't been finding anything lately, maybe I need to have a thrifting day and up my chances. What a fun day.
ReplyDeleteVintagehoneybee.blogspot.com
Funny I'm actually going to be making shelving similar to those!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.abeautifulmess.com/2012/06/diy-honeycomb-shelves.html
Yep, that's the tutorial I used. :)
DeleteI hope you bought those paint by numbers - I would have snatched them up immediately :)
ReplyDeleteyour day has an hour missing :)
ReplyDeleteYep, it happens.
DeleteThe thrift store at 11am looks so organized, the ones I go to are always a mess! Also, that's a really cute bookmark, did you make it yourself?
ReplyDeleteI sure did! :)
Deletelovely pictures! :)
ReplyDeleteIrene Wibowo
Cute photos! Just curious, what book are you reading in the last photo? It looks familiar!

I was reading Sugarbabe by Holly Hill.
DeleteCrum is gorgeous! That picture with his head poking out is awesome, I love the weird perspective.
ReplyDeleteOh, Crum is so adorable. I want to give him a big hug. I'm looking forward to seeing your finished shelves.
ReplyDeleteThat's funny that your parents' giant puppy likes to play with the laser pointer, because so does my giant puppy. He goes absolutely insane over it, and has even learned that the word "dot" means the laser pointer is coming out. :)
ReplyDeleteI want those shooooes! I love my TOMS but those are pretty badass!
ReplyDeleteFun! I'm always so nervous to trim kitty nails. Mine would probably have an insane panic attack and I'd lose an eye.

I really like this 'photo an hour' idea! I'm definitely going to have to try it!
ReplyDeleteI love the shoes and polka-dot socks in your first picture. Did you make the bookmark in the last one? Your shelves are going to be amazing when they're all done!
ReplyDeleteI sure did. :)
DeleteWhat a wonderful day!!
ReplyDeletePS Your mom's cat looks just like my cat!! :)
Crum is so adorable with that perception pose and poor Baby Kitty, yes you have to get your claws trimmed.
ReplyDeleteI am totally doing a photo an hour per year because of you and Elycia. Thanks alot! ;]
My mom's golden retrievers freak out over the laser pointer too!
ReplyDeleteHee hee-the dog picture is awesome! What are you reading? Do you have a goodreads.com account? I love goodreads!
ReplyDeleteI was reading Sugarbabe by Holly Hill. I do have a goodreads account but I really don't use it to keep up on what I'm reading.
DeleteLovely! All these pictures are really inspiring! Great post! xx
ReplyDeletehttp://thehonestfox.blogspot.com/
I love the bookmark! You made it I presume?
ReplyDeleteYep! Thank you!
DeleteLove the orange loafers! What a cute kitty :) I need to trim my rats' nails, but I'm not sure they would cooperate...
ReplyDeleteThis are my favorite posts from you, well besides cute cat ones! I just love seeing how your every day goes. I think I might do one someday but I'm sort of boring! ha!
ReplyDeleteLove and Turtledoves,
Jacqueline
My boyfriend's sister's German Shepherd NEVER gets bored of trying to catch the red dot from the laser pointer even though she's figured out that it's coming from your hand. I never stop finding it funny.
ReplyDeleteSheetz food, hmm? Is it... the sheet? ....I am a sucker for terrible puns. I just HAVE to sometimes!!
ReplyDeleteIn other news, Crum is so ridiculously gigantic and adorable. And I totally had the perspective of that shot all wrong, so thanks for clarifying!! Ahh, and such a good reminder to do my photo an hour this weekend! Goals, goals everywhere!!
--Erin
Ohhh Erin, you and your terrible puns! Sheetz food is the sheet though. They have aaaaamazing onion rings with habanero sauce. Ugh, it's goood!
DeleteI'm wondering if you have an effective way of trimming kitty nails? My cat immediately starts biting me as soon as I sit him in my lap and break out the clippers. ;) Do you have him on his back in that photo?
ReplyDeleteOh goodness, I really have no advice. Baby Kitty is one of the sweetest kitties ever and lots to be held like a baby so I always lay him on his back and trim his nails. My cats on the other hand will have nothing to do with that nonsense!
DeleteI'm in love with this idea! It's the first post I've caught of yours like this and it's so entertaining (and such good photos!). I may have to snatch up the idea and use it on my own blog some time (if that's alright). That is, if I remember to even take pictures haha - I'll probably have to set an alarm every hour!
ReplyDeleteI love things that look happy! I could spend my whole life hunting them out.
ReplyDeleteI was so confused by the photo of Crum for a while. It looks like his head is just stuck on the step!

Awesome photos! Crum is sooo cute, I love big doggies!! I have a question, and I'm just curious -- I thought you were vegan because most (maybe all?) of your recipes are. Is McD's hot chocolate vegan, or did I have your dietary preferences wrong? Just wondering. : )
ReplyDeleteNope, I'm not vegan.
DeleteOh okay, well thanks anyway for sharing such great vegan recipes!! I found your blog recently through your zucchini bread recipe and I love both!
DeleteI love your bookmark with the dried flowers and leaves! From reading this blog I've been inspired to collect little things from nature, I'd forgotten how much I loved hunting around the woods for interesting plants. So thank you for that :)
ReplyDeleteThat's so wonderful!! :D
Deletelovely post :D
ReplyDeleteI love these photo an hours! I love the little peek into other's lives, and sharing tiny tidbits from my own. You've inspired me to do one of these a month for this year. I just posted my first one,
ReplyDeletehttp://inside-the-hive.com/post/40698283086/photo-an-hour-jan-2013
Never realized that about the McDonald's cup, but its true! Very fun. (Also as a peppermint lover I will have to try the peppermint hot chocolate.) Also, I now want smiley face stickers to stick on my outlet. Cute.
ReplyDeleteLooks and sounds like a very productive day. Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteThat puppy picture gave me the giggles, what a cutie pie. I want a dog so bad :( Freakin lease agreements. Thrift shopping is the best, you look like you have some awesome stores near you, I have a lot of variety in terms of thrift stores but most of them are pretty small.
ReplyDeleteHoneysuckelle
I looooove the shelves. They look like a beehive. Will it be painted yellow? I'm assuming you made that bookmark yourself with your pressed plants, that's such a great idea. They're very pretty. Aaaaand great danes are basically one of the best things ever.
ReplyDeleteYour mom's cat it's so cute ^^ And Crum it's so big and beautiful! Like your book marker :)
ReplyDeleteKisses
I LOVE those shoes! They are adorable.
ReplyDeleteI love this "photo an hour" idea. I just might borrow it from you. I love those orange shoes! And the kitty has a funny face. I trimmed Kim's (one of my cats) nails today and she growls sooo hard when I do that, it's so funny, although I feel bad for her. :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a great day.
xo,
Alice
Hey! I found an awesome pair of shoes and thought of you! Her shop is on vacation but.. they are adorbz.

I actually already have an awesome custom pair from her!

Hehe. That picture of Crum's head poking through the stairs is hilarious. I keep looking back for a double-take. So good!
ReplyDeleteIs that teal/pink/purple plaid number one of the skirts? If so, not only do I have the same skirt (also thrifted), but am wearing it today! Weird coincidence. I always think of this skirt as 'elementary school teacher chic' since it reminds me of something one of my teachers would have worn back in the early '90s.
ReplyDeleteOf course, maybe that's not a skirt at all and this comment is meaningless. Still, great post!
No, that's actually a shirt. But it totally is elementary school teacher chic, haha!!
DeleteOh my goodness, I LOVE Sheetz. We have two in my college's town because one is just not enough. Too bad I gave up fast food this year - burnt. I'll just have to keep getting their smoothies! So. Good. Looks like you had quite a fun day with your momma!

Teardops Are Falling
I love collections of miniature doll, so beautiful
ReplyDeleteOh, I hope you bought the PBNs! They are fabulous!
ReplyDeletehahahaha Crum's head! What a goofy boy :)
ReplyDeletep.s. what did you use to stick your pressed plants to that bookmark? It's adorable!
I glued them down then covered them with packing tape which I cut to the same size as the cardstock I glued them too. :)
DeleteYep, that puppy dog picture totally threw me off at first :P Such a cutie! Haha!
ReplyDeleteOh! When I first saw that picture of Crum I thought it was a quirky ornament sitting on the stairs, so funny!

Looks like such a fun day! Can't wait to see the finished shelves, they're gonna be gorgeous. I wish my pup would chase the laser, he just looks at me like "Why am I not being pet right now?" :)
ReplyDeletehttp://www.ellingsenphoto.com/
I didn't know dogs like to play with laser pointers too. I had discovered that my fish like it though! I was playing with my cat using the laser and accidentally pointed it toward the fish tank and those fish just bolted toward the laser. It was crazy! I try not to play with them though because I'm fairly certain they think it's food and I feel bad that it's not haha. But I'll totally have to try this the next time we have my sister's dog visiting. Thanks!
