photo an hour : november 26th, 2012

Tuesday, December 04, 2012

Phew, once again I'm a hairball late sharing my photo an hour for the month. But like I've said each month, as long as it gets done in time I don't really mind that it gets posted late. Without further ado, here is my November 26th in photos broken up hour by hour...

8 am // washing dishes before getting my day started...
I can't stand working in a messy home.
9 am // worked on a few blog posts, & jotted down some ideas...
10 am // cleaned some tiny teeth I found a few weeks back...
tiny molars are probably my favorite thing ever!
11 am // spent some time photographing another collection to share...
surprisingly none of the things shown in the picture are part of said collection. They just shared a box with some of the items.
12 pm // editing some photos for a future post...
also, I spotted Doctor Octopus napping ever so sweetly!
1 pm // baking up some peanut butter pillows...
2 pm // finished cookies! After they were done baking I squished them down with the fork and somehow they turned out tastier than normal...
3 pm // visiting with Carl (& Lloyd) on the deck...
4 pm // folding towels and watching the cutest kitty nap on the couch...
5 pm // baked butternut squash for dinner!
my current favorite food! It's quick and delicious. Just cut a butternut squash into 1 inch cubes, put in a cake pan, drizzle a little bit of oil over top and bake for 45 mins or so at 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Stir once or twice to make sure everything gets browned. They're amazing dipped in ketchup.
6 pm // putting together a little container to rehydrate some moths I'd been saving for when I finally learned to pin them...
7 pm // working on a new nail design for the week...
this one actually didn't turn out, I forgot I'm not a huge fan of glitter...
I feel like ending pictures at seven is a little early, at least it for me it normally is but with it getting dark so darn early (and hating to use flash) the rest of the photos would have been taken at my desk and two is already enough.

I'm so excited to only have one month's photo an hour left this year to complete my little goal of taking one each month. I'll try to take December's a little bit earlier in hopes of sharing it earlier than 2013.

Hope you're having an awesome Tuesday!
xoxo

  1. This is a great idea, if only I didn't work in an office all day. Might steal your idea for a weekend, if you don't mind =]

Your cats are adorable, and sleep in the cutest ways!

  3. This is a really great idea! You've inspired me to maybe grab my camera and do it myself one day, just to see what happens and how it effects my photographic and creative mind :-)

  4. Your cat's sleeping pose is seriously hilarious. I wanted to photoshop him jumping off a diving board into the pool because that is a pose worthy of the Olympics!

  6. I love entomology! I played around with pinning a couple years ago and my first pin was horrible (and was a Luna Moth to!). I should revisit that hobby again!

  8. I love your photo an hour posts! I'm curious what technique you use to clean those teeth, if you don't mind me asking! I'm always interested in how others clean bones and such that they find. :)

  9. Ooh we like roasted butternut squash too, with some garlic and sage chopped in like I did here http://www.frecklefaceblog.com/2012/11/nesting.html

Kitty cats sleeping is one of life's true joys :)

  15. I really enjoy these posts. I'm considering doing one too, but I don't do as much as you in a day. I really should do more, so maybe taking photos would actually help me to be more aware and waste less time in a day.

Animals can sleep in the strangest positions and they always look so ridiculously comfortable. I'm always a little jealous when I watch our dogs sleep.

I like glitter over nude nail polish, it's fun but still classy :)

Where do you find the moths and the tiny teeth?

    1. Photo an hour posts really do make you more aware of what you're doing with your time!

Everywhere? Haha, not really a great answer but there is always something to find if you're looking. These particular moths were found at my parents house last summer and the teeth were from a skeleton I found in a parking lot.

    2. A skeleton in a parking lot! Oh my gosh. I've never found anything like that and I live in the country. Ok, the other day there was a bird leg on our washing line post. It looked like it had been ripped off and we think it must have been eaten by another bird. I guess that's pretty weird :)

  18. I always say I'm going to do this and then I never do. For 2013 my goal will be to do this at least once. That should be easy.
Love your pot, I have one just like it.

  19. I love your photo an hour posts! And I have a totally random question: it looks like you don't peel your butternut squash before baking--does that mean the skin is edible? If so, mind = blown!

    1. Nope, I don't peel it. The skin is probably the best part, it adds such a nice texture.

  24. I seriously wish I would have thought of having a photo an hour as a once-a-month thing! Great system. I have always been so scattered with where to fit it in and then end up forgetting... Now it will get an official mark in my calendar!
