fall goal list : decorate for halloween!

Saturday, October 27, 2012

Time to cross another thing off my fall goal list. Well, to be honest I've been in the process of decorating for Halloween since the very end of September but even still I don't feel like it's done. (Gosh, Halloween is this coming week!) I'm pretty sure that I managed to lose a box of decorations including two big skeletons, some pumpkins made from paper to put in the window and who knows what other cool things! I'm not quite sure how they could go missing since there is only one place storage boxes go in the basement but I couldn't find them when I brought up the other box.

Regardless, even if I don't have all the decorations up it still feels so nice and fall like in the house. I've been burning pumpkin scented candles like crazy and there are fake leaves on every surface (even the floor sometimes since the cats like to play with them!) I'm really not looking forward to putting all this stuff away, it feels homey!

  3. Because we don't really do Halloween here, I'm always so curious. Is this very excellent decorating the standard, or just part of the wholeheartedness I enjoy about this blog?

  5. Halloween is definitely the best holiday to decorate for. Growing up, my mom always had a ton of great fall decorations and it was always so sad to help her pack them away at the end of the season. Of course, then there's Christmas decorations, so that helps ;)

  12. Heehee a couple years ago my roommate and I decided to do a Halloween themed Christmas tree covered in nightmare before Christmas stuff and orange lights and pumpkins (we're weird), so when the Halloween stuff came down it was just reincarnated into the next set of decorations. Best mini Christmas tree ever :D.

  13. Do you decorate outside at all? I always find it acceptable if people leave some of their decorations out after Halloween, since pumpkins are associated with Thanksgiving as well.

    1. Not really. Eventually I'd like to, like when I have kids but for right now I'm just happy decorating the inside. I'm also worried about putting super cool decor outside and it getting stolen.

  17. At work last year, we never took down the hanging white trash bag ghosts, so this year we were festive early. Therefore, I support you if you decide to keep your pumpkins up all year.

  19. I LOVE your Halloween decorations! Actually I also love everything on your walls too- the cuckoo clocks are so cute! I wish we did the whole Halloween celebration here in Australia. I also love how in America you seem to celebrate the seasons more- like having Autumn/Thanksgiving decorations with leaves and turkeys before the Christmas/Winter season starts. I'm very envious of your opportunities for re-decorating the house! :)

    1. It definitely is a great opportunity to re-decorate often! That's a shame that in Australia you guys don't go all out for holidays.

  21. I love all your Halloween decorations, my family was never really into decorations, apart from for Christmas when they go all out, but now that I'm in my own place again I really want to go mad. I've made a couple of bits and bobs but everything in the shops is just so expensive. I think I'm going to wait until the end of the week then get loads on offer so I'm prepared for next year!

Also, I love your collection of cuckoo clocks, so cute! xo
