camping photos on film // part two

Thursday, October 4, 2012

Here are some more photos from a few weekends ago when I went camping with my family. Like I mentioned in the previous post, the cabin we stayed at came with three canoes, which was awesome. I figured we'd do a lot of hiking and exploring of the area but we really ended up spending most of the weekend canoeing. If it had been up to my nephew and I we would have basically spent the whole weekend canoeing. Here are some photos from our adventures...
I'd love to live right on a river where I could just hop in a canoe and hit the water! Especially on this river. It was surprisingly quiet, as in there was barely anyone else out on the water. Any other time I've been canoeing (which the exception of two times) there are always lot of people doing the same thing. It was so peaceful, especially in the morning fog.

Hope you're having an awesome day.
xoxo

All of the photos above were taken with a Canon T2 and Fuji 35mm Superia X-TRA 400 that expired in 2010.

  1. beautiful! reminds me of one of the most awesome memories me and my husband share. Before we were married and had kiddies we would camp in the lakes by the edge of lake coniston. We went canoeing one morning early and the fog was still over the water and all was quiet and suddenly from nowhere a flock of geese took off and flew low over our heads...it was utterly amazing! i know that's a special memory for both of us. Thank you for sparking a precious memory x

  3. Looks absolutely gorgeous! Third picture down is hands down my favorite! It reminds me of my grandpa's home in upstate New York. He had a river that ran through the back of his house seeing your photos brought back awesome memories of spending time on his dock and boat fishing and watching the beavers and wild life. :)

  4. Gosh, I've been wanting to canoe for two years now! There are some gorgeous creeks in Mississippi, that are easily accessible , but it gets so hot and humid here that it prevents me from staying outside too long. Right now though it is perfect weather, so it's about to time to go exploring and do some camping :) Thanks for the inspiration!!

  6. What do you do with all of your prints? Keep them in a photo box, photo albums, etc.? Just curious because you must have a ton of them!

Life would definitely be amazing to be able to just hop into a canoe every morning. So relaxing.

  10. Looks like so much fun! The film tones turned out perfect, they really play up the feeling of camping and the woods (at least to me!). :)

  12. I've always wanted to go canoeing! It seems so fun and relaxing. While my brother and I were out exploring the woods and old cemeteries for geocaches it occurred to me that it would be something you would love!! Geocaching is an outdoor treasure hunt. You can use a GPS or your iPhone to find the coordinates of the container and see whats inside! The ones we found today didn't have any treasures, only a log sheet of people that's found them. In the first one I left a rubber Batman bracelet and an eyeball shaped ring and in the second one I left seventy seven cents. I think that it's something that you could get totally hooked on so check it out sometime when you're exploring the park or out camping again!
