Camping photos on film

Saturday, September 8, 2012

Had I not wanted to take a photo an hour while we were camping a few weekends back (you can see my day hour by hour here) I probably would have shot solely with film. I feel like film more accurately portrays camping, it's hard to explain but I just feel like these photos really sum up the weekend.
Even though these were just taken a few weekends ago it feels like it was forever ago. I can't wait to do it again!

Hope you're having a great weekend!
xoxo

All of the photos above were taken with a Canon T2 and Fuji 35mm Superia X-TRA 400 that expired in 2010.

  5. I love the timeless feel to these. Maybe it's because the colors are kind of muted? Looks like you had such a fun time! -Laura (longtime reader of your blog!)

  6. I do believe you're right about film and camping. These really look so outdoorsy in a way that the digital photos just don't. I think you're on to something good. :)

  7. Gorgeous photos! I know what you mean about the thing that you prefer to shoot with film when you're camping. I prefer to shoot film too when I'm at a holiday, it has more emotion in it, if that makes any sense? xD Anyway I like analogue photos better for these kind of things. :)

  15. Looks like it was a lovely time ~ I'd quite like to go camping just for the sake of it as I've always been camping because of events or festivals.

  16. Looks like a fun camping trip! I just ordered a bunch of film for my medium format camera for my upcoming trip to New Mexico (we hope to camp a few days during the trip as well!) I'm super excited! When I told some friends I had loaded up on film, they were confused because they knew I had a decent digital camera, but it's just not the same! I love having breaks from electronics and when I'm as fully immersed in nature as I am when camping, knowing that image is on a physical piece of film seems more fitting. Both of my parents grew up in Pennsylvania and so I've spent a decent amount of time there over the years. I really do love the forests in PA :)
