Supplies used...
Zoya Pippa
Essie Fear or Desire
Seche Vite as a top coat
Cosmetics sponge

My second try at gradient nails was much more successful than the first. I am just craaaazy about these. I'm not sure I can count the number of times I've shoved them in Kevin's face saying "LOOK! Aren't they beeeeeautiful?!" I have a feeling they're going to be happening a lot more often now that I've got the hang of it. Every idea I have to paint my nails involves gradient.

I'm smitten with this new orange from Essie. What I've bought from their summer line so far has all been awesome but this orange might take the cake for me. Like white nail polish, I had trouble finding a good orange. Every one I've ever owned has been streaky and just generally didn't cover well. This Fear or Desire went on so very nice!
...And I have to include a photo of Lloyd because he hung out by my feet while I was taking the pictures of my nails. I love this guy so much. It's the best when I'm on the deck watering plants in the morning and when I turn around all of a sudden he's standing there meowing.
Hope you're having a fabulous Sunday!
xoxo

  26. But how?!? I cannot figure them out. I'm smitten with highlighter orange right now. Surprisingly, kleancolor does a nice one that takes 1-2 coats for full coverage and is so bright it almost hurts my eyes to look at it. BUT it also gives the illusion that I am very, very tan and makes me a beacon at the pool!

  30. Those nails are just awesome! I was wondering how long on average your nail polish lasts before chipping. I know you post a weekly nail, does that mean it lasts a week? My nail polish normally chips after two days.

    1. My nails rarely get the chance to chip because I change them so often. If you're nails are chipping quickly you should try a better top coat, I swear by seche vite! :)

  31. love them so much!
question: do you have to use a new makeup sponge with each time you do your nails a different color? or are the sponges washable with nail polish remover?

    1. I do, but I'm not really sure you'd have to. I have no idea if nail polish remover would get them clean but it might not even be worth it.

  33. Very cool! I tried a gradient a few weekends ago and I would call the result "uneven" at best... heh. Guess I should have actually read a tutorial instead of just grabbing some polish colors, a makeup sponge, and a "yeah of course this will totally work!" attitude. =)

I have also been looking for a good orange. This just may be the one!

  34. Wow this is a great second try! I've wanted to try gradients for a few weeks now but I've never actually gotten around to it. And that orange is just lovely. There's another Essie orange that I love called 'orange, it's obvious'...I think I just love Essie in general lol

PS - When will Lloyd be considered an owned outdoor cat? :)
