It's been very dry around these parts lately. I really don't mind minus the fact my corn is doing as well as it could be and even worse than that is mushrooms aren't growing. While fall is prime mushroom hunting season, last year I learned that they really around all the time and everywhere, no matter the season. Even in this mini-drought I've still spotted lots of beautiful mushrooms lurking.
I'm anxiously awaiting mushroom season and crossing my fingers that I find lots and lots and maybe even cross one or two off my "must find" list. I really miss seeing them everywhere I walk.
Hope you're having a great Saturday. I've got a busy but totally fun day planned. I'm very excited about getting the day started.

Those pictures are beautiful! And I love that butterfly, seems as if its wings are made of lace!
ReplyDeleteWow, fantastic shots. I love the one with the white moth on the yellow leaf. Stunning.

These photos are beautiful, especially that moth, it almosts look like lace xo
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful pictures. I've spotted a few little mushrooms recently (and a lovely half ring of them the other week) and I always think of you and your blog! It's ridiculous, because I don't know you- but your gorgeous nature shots just stick in my mind :-)
ReplyDeleteI love how you photograph such little things most people pass, or worse, stomp on, and make them look to us like the works of art that you view them as. Your blog is always so full of the surprising little treasures we may all be surrounded by, but perhaps don't take the time or effort to slow down, and bend down to notice.

these are lovely photos! kaylah, i'm sure you'll find what you seek, & if you don't, you will be sure to enjoy your journey, along the way. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful nature photos! I'm glad to see that you are still able to get pretty pictures in this draught. =D
ReplyDeleteI love that you love mushrooms! I actually recently discovered a trick that I thought I'd share with you just in the off-chance you haven't heard about it before (though you probably have being such a big lover of mushrooms and all...) We recently planted hydrangeas in our backyard and I was researching stuff about how to take care of them online. I read somewhere that adding coffee grounds to the soil helps blue hydrangeas keep turning blue so I decided to try it out. Within the next day (maybe 2) about 5 or so mushrooms sprouted up under the hydrangea bush! I was baffled! I had never seen any mushrooms in our backyard before (ever) since we live in sunny California and all. I was pretty excited and snapped lots of pictures haha. But anywho! I hopped online to check it out and sure enough, coffee grounds are perfect for growing your own mushrooms. So! If you didn't know this already, there ya go. You can find a nice shady spot to scatter coffee grounds--water it often--and you'll have your own mushrooms in no time : ]
ReplyDeleteAre those two bugs doing it? Totally looks like they are. Also, obviously, beautiful pictures. Just thought I'd start this comment with how mature I am.
