I'm finding myself drawn to these two images for the same reason - the maps! Something about putting a map above the bed just looks so good. I think I know exactly what I want to do with our bedroom. Now to find the perfect vintage map...

Speaking of maps, holy cow - the Mapparium looks amazing! Any in the Boston, MA area ever visited? Is it as awesome as this photo makes it look?

I rediscovered The Black Apple's work recently and was searching for the perfect one to include in my Friday Favorites, I think this one is just perfect. I wish this was a portrait of me, who doesn't want a giant, sleepy tooth to cuddle?

These shoes are just the cutest. I love both colorways they come in. I'm still obsessed with flatforms, I want a whole darn closet full of them.

This sweater is so much fun! I think the end of the sleeves might be my favorite part.

I know a little while back I posted the donut float but I just discovered these ones as well! I would really love to float around on a pretzel all day, but the serpent one looks like so much fun to play in.

This photo is too sweet. That little face!!

Cat versus human is my favorite web comic, I can relate to SO many of them.

ReplyDeleteGreat finds as usual! I put a map on my bed room wall and I seriously love it. I was one of my best purchases recently!
ReplyDeleteWow, those flatforms and that jumper! LOVE them. Plain and simple! :)
ReplyDeleteI wrote a little about the Mapparium here: http://www.wickedcheapboston.com/2010/09/08/free-tour-first-church-of-christ-scientist/
ReplyDeleteIt's part of the First Church of Christ, Scientist (also a really cool tour for those interested)
It's just as neat as it seems! They haven't updated anything since it was installed so there's some old names which are interesting to see. There's some fun acoustics as well.
I love those maps too!! The second room is my favorite!!
ReplyDeleteI adore that Black Apple's prints!

My favorite is the first photo! That bedspread and the map are AMAZING! :D Second would have to be the photo of the girls and the floaties... something reminiscent about it....

Yup, totally true about cat people.
ReplyDeleteBlack Apple is the best! I have a couple of her prints at home :) So unique and sweet. I personally LOVE her Loch Ness Monster print the most.
ReplyDeleteAck! I love those maps! I've always had a thing for globes and maps, ever since I went with my brother to the city dump and found a globe that still had the USSR and Yugoslavia on it. I have no qualms dumpster diving for cool stuff!
ReplyDeleteAlso: a friend of mine referred me to julep.com today for 1 cent nail polishes and I was thinking about who else I could share this with and you were the first person that popped into my mind (totally and 100% not a scam--and now that I've said that, you're totally going to think this is a scam. Well, in any case, it's not).
So to get the 1 cent nail polishes, just go to julep.com and look through their collections--they have names like Boho glam, American beauty, the It Girl, and whatnot. When you find the collection you like, there's a button at the bottom of the page where it will let you buy it/sign up for their monthly subscription service. It'll take you to a checkout page where you can enter the code "COLOR2012" and once you apply the code, it'll give you the polish for one cent! I may or may not have used different email addresses to get multiple sets...but don't tell on me!
Just remember to cancel the subscription after you receive your polishes if you don't want to be automatically charged $20 a month for nail polishes!
Love everything!

I went to the Mapparium when I visited Boston last year, it was super cool. The way it's angled, you can stand in one doorway and whisper and a person at the opposite end of the room can hear you loud and clear, as if you're right next to each other! Don't know if I explained that well, but it's really echo-ey :) I like the maps over the beds!
ReplyDeletemaps! yes! they're my favorite. check out wardmaps.com, i order a lot of presents for friends through the site -- they've got vintage maps of EVERYWHERE!
ReplyDeleteThat jumper is so much fun! I love the floats too. I need to get myself one of those!
