This was supposed to go up last week but for Mother's Day Kevin and I headed over to my parents really early have breakfast and I ended up not having time to finish up the post and didn't want to just throw it in the middle of the week because I AM OBSESSED WITH THESE NAILS. After I did the first nail I was like "POOP! That was a bad color choice" but I decided to go on because I didn't feel like taking off the base coat. After I finished and put on a top coat I realized that they were probably the snazziest things ever. I actually kept them like this for at least a week which is definitely a record in my book.
Supplies used...
Wet n Wild - On a Trip
Essie - Lilacism
Funky Fingers
Seche Vite as a top coat.
Nail stickers (blogged about here // bought from here)
Still diggin' those nail stickers! This is one of my favorite shapes. It's simple without being too simple, if that makes sense. I also really like that it's a great width for my nail, it's just about a third of them. I bought some skinnier ones before buying these and I found them really hard to paint neatly. With these I can be kind of sloppy.
If you're not real quick on the nail stuff, I first painted the lightest color. After it dried I then applied the sticker and quickly painted the top half of my nail one color and the bottom half the other color and then removed the sticker before moving onto the next nail. Super easy!

EEEEEEEP! I think you've done the best nails yet! I am so inspired to stop chewing now! Grow nails, grow!
ReplyDeleteAnother wonderful weekly nail post. I'm so inspired by you that I'm trying to come up with things to do with my nails! You have such great ideas that I usually impress my friends with. Thanks for the post, It's a shame that I can't find nail stickers anywhere!!:(
ReplyDeletechamomiledealer.blogspot.com I'm new to the blogging world! :)
Oh wow, these are so lovely! I would totally wear a dress with that colour/pattern!

I bought a pack of these stickers after your last post, absolutely love them! But I was wondering how you get yours so neat? I can't seem to get the balance right - either I put the stickers on when they're too sticky and the base coat comes off when I remove them, or I put them on not tacky enough and the other colours bleed through!
ReplyDeleteI always stick what I'll be using on my hand first while waiting to do use the sticker so it takes away a little bit of the stickiness and when I put them on my nail I make sure to press down really hard and rub over it with another finger to make sure it's down all the way so nothing will bleed under.
DeleteYour nails are always so fabulous!
ReplyDeleteEach week you do such a great job :)
The colors you chose go really well together.
ReplyDeleteSo so cuteee. My favorite color! Definitely doing this today.
ReplyDeleteWow, they look amazing! I'm so jealous of people who a) can paint their nails without smudging them everywhere and b) actually have nails to paint!

Okay, definitely getting these and practicing til I master the art of wacky beautiful nails.
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky that you can keep polish on your nails for a week! My nails are hopeless and finger nail polish chips off within the day. I've tried everything from making sure to clean my nails with polish remover first, using the same top coat you have, and letting the color dry for hours before next coat. I can even paint a ton of glitter polish on my nails (which a lot of people seem to have trouble removing) and it will flake off easily, glitter and all.
ReplyDeleteSo jealous haha I just want the damn polish to stay on my nails...love the nails, they look awesome!
Your nails always look so good! if you ever quit your day job be a nail artist!
ReplyDeletepurple is my favourite color so I think this is one of the best you've ever done!
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to let you know your weekly nail posts inspired me to finally stop chewing my nails. Just did a teal chevron nail in your honor. Thanks for the motivation to stop a lifelong habit.
ReplyDeleteGreat color combo, I love how the pattern is chevron-like!
ReplyDeleteThese are so pretty! I took your recommendation and got myself some of these stickers. I having so much fun - http://dearlydee.blogspot.co.nz/2012/05/manicure-monday_21.html. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteCool color choices, I want to do something similar but with black and grey :P
ReplyDeleteWoah so gorgeous. I need steady hands like yours so I can try your awesome nail designs! :)
ReplyDeleteYou really don't even need a steady hand when using the nail stickers! Definitely give it a spin, Meredith! :)
DeleteI am in loooove with the chevron stripes... I feel like you always make unexpected but awesome color choices! I might have to try something like this and blog about it (giving you credit of course!)

DeleteAwesome nails Kaylah! You've really inspired me to try some funky designs, so thanks for sharing. I really want to try some of those stickers now. They look super. :)
ReplyDeletexox,
bonita of Depict This!
I ordered a bunch of those stickers and finally had successful designs the other night! They still don't look as smooth and straight lines as yours but I'm learning! I'm also learning what nail polish is right for me, I'm starting to think that Essie doesn't dry very well. I probably also paint it on too thick? Who knows, LOVELY anyhow!
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOSH!!! These are some of the best nails EVER. Great job, lady!
ReplyDeleteThese look so good! I have that Wet N' Wild polish and I love it. The wider brush works really well for me. I think it might be time to get some of those stickers! :)
