Photo an hour // April 26, 2012 - The Dainty Squid

Photo an hour // April 26, 2012

Wednesday, May 02, 2012

Once again I forgot about my monthly photo an hour until the last minute! But I'm still pretty happy about how it turned out. Here is my Thursday, April 26th, broken down one hour at a time...

7am //  Listening to The Mars Volta and finishing up the days post.
8am // Packing orders.
(ps. I'm closing up The Dainty Squid handmade shop, there is a niiiice coupon in the shop announcement if you'd like to get your hands on something before it's all gone forever.)
9am // Hanging out with this crazy kitty!
(He's yawning in case you couldn't tell.)
10am // Lunch! A veggie burger that I managed to burn very badly but somehow still tasted delicious.
11am // Washing up dishes.
12pm // Cleaning out my closet.
(The closet is only home to Kevin's clothes and my sweaters, but somehow it was getting really out of control. I need a closet that can hold all of my clothes, not just one category of them.)
also 12pm // Working on cleaning out the basement.
1pm // Thanks Mr. Mailman & Modcloth
(Yep, that dress has pencil shavings on it, Ms. Frizzle would be proud!)
2pm // Taking a break to read Mole People with my good pal, Leaf.
(On a related note - since reading 15 new books was one of my 2012 goals I'll be sharing everything I've read far this year in early June, when the year is half over. I'm excited to tell you all about what I've been reading.)
3pm // Lloyd came to visit! ...and tried to come in when I opened the door to grab the food bowl.
also 3pm // Mac and cheese for dinner!
4pm // Painting my nails while waiting on Kevin to get home.
5pm // We headed to the park and took outfit pictures. While fall is pretty, I'm not impressed that's what it looks like outside, IT'S SPRING!!
6pm // Time to put away groceries after a quick trip to the store.

The day ended with a movie, a snack and some reading in bed!
xoxo

  2. That picture of Lloyd is absolutely adorable. What is your secret to getting so many feline visitors?! Besides having three cats yourself.. :)

    Love these photos!

    1. I think the secret is having four kitties, which I do! :P

But seriously, I just had one wander on to my deck one day so I fed him and within a week or two I had more. You feed one and they tell all their friends. :)

  4. Agreed with the comments... I love the photo an hour posts!

In my neighborhood there is a severe problem with feral cats... they're just everywhere, and quite a few of them hang out under an overhang at the back of our house when it rains or snows. I feel bad, because when I go outside in the morning to go to work, they bolt... and I always call after them that there's no need to get wet, I wasn't going to bother them... but they never listen.

  5. oooh i love the photo an hour idea!!!! I'll try it for may! But not today. home w/ a sick 5 yr old. did i mention it's a stomach virus? um yes, i took pics (no one would believe the range this kid could puke otherwise) but not the best for posting. Is there a blog police who would tell me i'm the grossest ever? I can't take that chance.

  6. These are some of my favorite posts that you do. You has this amazing talent at making average, everyday things look so inspiring! Seriously, I now feel like washing my dishes would be an adventure. Also, those ModCloth dresses are amazing. Nice Magic School Bus reference!

  9. I feel like we could be BFF. I eat veggie burgers for lunch most days and mac and cheese for dinners most nights. We are so gangsta.

  10. I read The Mole People a couple years ago and loved it. I think a nice follow-up to that read is watching "CHUD", which perhaps sounds insensitive, but I hold the upmost respect for that film. Truly.

  11. I love that yellow dress from ModCloth. I'm glad I'm not the only one with closet overload problems. I had to move all my sweaters and winter stuff under my bed.

  12. Here it started being cold a month after autumn started. Seasons are crazy everywhere, apparently.
Why are you closing the shop? :c

  13. How do you like that almond milk? My favorite is Almond Breeze original. The only other one I've tried is Silk, and it's too thick for my taste.

    1. I didn't try it, I'm not really big on stuff like that (I drink 2% milk) but Kevin didn't like it. He said it tasted like brown water.

  18. Here was my reaction to you closing your handmade shop...

"NOOOOOOO....but I haven't had a chance to buy anything pretty yet!"

Anyways, I hope everything is not gone by the time I get off work and get to buy something!

  36. We have the same grocery taste!

I think there being a lack of snow in Cleveland this Winter, it didn't get a chance to "wash away" all of the Fall treasures.

  37. I have never seen that almond plus milk before (although just read your comment about Kevin not liking it)... so sad to see TDS shop go but I'm so glad you're able to focus on Circus Bear! So cool!
