what I wore; bolo tie - The Dainty Squid

what I wore; bolo tie

the details
sweater - Sears
shirt - thrifted / vintage
bolo tie - thrifted
skirt - thrifted / vintage
tights - c/o Modcloth
shoes - c/o Le Bunny Bleu

These are easily my most worn tights. (You can find them on the blog two other times - here and here.) They're really easy to mix with any outfit since they're not too outrageous. I'm really dreading the day they rip, I want to wear them forever! I wish I had a pair just like them (same quality & fit) with all different things on the knees, like hearts and circles.

I know bolo ties are normally made fun of but I'm pretty proud of this thing. I actually hunted and hunted for one for a really long time. I thought they'd be no sweat to thrift but apparently people either a. realized how goofy they are just threw them away or b. realized how awesome they look and buy them before I can find them! The day I was wearing this one we were actually at an antique mall when I found a new clip for it so instead of a rock looking thing it now is a the silhouette of a man bowling. It's pretty amazing, I'll show you all soon!

Hope you have a great day. I'm finishing up some posts for the rest of the week today. Among one of my favorites is an outfit post Elycia and I took together when she was out last time. I can't wait to share!
xoxo

  3. I have never heard of Le Bunny Bleu. Can you tell me about the quality, comfort, sizing? I had been looking for some purple oxfords (I know, I have very specific shopping needs) and now I am officially in love with these: http://shop.lebunnybleu.com/collections/oxfords/products/purple-funtassel-oxfords and they are a super reasonable price so I am wondering if you could tell me a little bit about the brand before I jump in. Thanks!

Oh and, I cannot get over how awesome your nails always are. I've tried to do the scotch tape thing and I always make a mess. I guess I'll have to keep trying.

    1. Lyri, they're very comfortable, and great quality! They might possibly run 1/2 size small though. I'm a US 7.5 but always order an 8 when buying online and these fit me perfectly in an 8.

  9. I've never seen a bolo tie (not too popular here in India). But it looks like a fun accessory...maybe there's a DIY out there...wouldn't mind trying one. :)

  11. Oh wow! I didn't even realise you were wearing tights until I saw the outfit description. I think I need a pair of tights like these (i.e. ones the give the impression of not wearing any).

  12. I had been wanting a bolo tie for a while as well, and I actually found one with a horse head clip recently in a little grab bag at a near by vintage store. I was so excited about it, so I definitely know how you feel about this one.
