what i wore; driftwood and cowboy boots - The Dainty Squid

what i wore; driftwood and cowboy boots

Tuesday, November 01, 2011

the details:
hat - thrifted
sweater - thrifted
belt - thrifted
camera bag - Jo Totes
socks - kohls
boots - thrifted

This outfit all started by building up from the socks and boots. I just recently realized I didn't have any over the knee socks to go with my new cowboy boots I thrifted a few weeks ago. Kevin and I wandered into Kohls to waste a few minutes before heading to an estate sale and I found four amazing pairs of over the knee socks for this fall. I'm so excited to wear them all!

On the evening these photos were taken Kevin and I had headed to the beach to play. We worked on a silly little project that a friend and us has started over the weekend - standing pieces of drift wood up. I dunno - it seemed like a fun idea and it most certainly was. I was so excited to see most of our pieces from the weekend were still standing despite the crashing waves. Sometimes the simplest things are the most fun!

  2. Very very cute! Such a gorgeous beachy scene. Too funny that you posted this this week because on Monday I did a "what I wore" with the Annie Oakley dress from Emerging Thoughts that looks so similar to the Buffalo Bill dress! Oddly enough I paired boots with mine too! :) If you want to see it here's a direct link! http://sewsavoirfairecreations.blogspot.com/2011/10/what-i-wore-cowboy-boots-and-tights.html

Tonight the boyfriend and I are going stargazing, possibly at the beach. We may have to set up some drift wood too and be apart of the project!
How cool would that be if more people got involved and sent in pictures from all over the world! :)

  24. So I have a confession to make, Kaylah. I am an avid follower of your blog, but I used to think, 'Man, girl's awesome, but we just don't have the same style.'

And now we do :) This outfit is amazing. The grey dress is gorgeous, and is so well complemented with the burgundy sweater. You accessorised perfectly, and today I'm definitely going to wear some OTK socks.

I think this may have been the first time I commented here, so I just wanna say hi and that I think you and your blog are great!
