Why are baby animals SO cute?

Saturday, August 13, 2011

Isn't this baby painted turtle just the cutest little thing? I couldn't put him down, I just wanted to keep staring at him and giving him a little squeeze-y hugs. (I never grew out of squeezing animals that I think are cute, don't worry, no turtles were harmed!)
Isn't he precious?! I love how smug his face is when his mouth is closed.

  11. Aww! I used to have a pet turtle for a few years, till we decided to set it free. I also had two pet crabs, but they started eating all the fish in our fish tank, so we had to give those away.

  15. Once when I was 7. I found a baby turtle on my yard. And I just knew I wanted to keep it forever. So I made it a little "fence" so it could never leave me. Sadly, the "fence" was made from rocks, so he escaped during the night. I was one bummed out kid.

  30. agh....he is adorable! such great photos of him too! i grew up wanting to keep every turtle, baby bird, lizard, snake, etc that i found. might be why i ended up working at an animal shelter. ;) i always wanted a turtle as a pet but they were banned in pet stores b/c of disease. i think people should just learn to wash their hands. silly.

  42. Oh I LOVE turtles!!! I have a sweet little box turtle and I love her to pieces. I immediately thought she was a "he". I think that little thing might be a girl too. She has a pretty thin tail. It will be easier to tell as it gets a little older. You should keep him/her!!
