A few days ago we hit up one of my favorite secondhand stores - The Miscellaneous Barn. In the "bargain room", which really doesn't contain bargains but is just cold and dark, I found this camera bag. It's made from leather, is in near mint condition and is just what I've been looking for. I wanted a small camera bag with a hard shell that would hold one small film camera and some mushrooms (I'm aware that probably sounds really random) for when we go on hikes. The bag was marked ten dollars which I thought was pretty steep but since it just so happened to be exactly what I've been looking for I decided to splurge....
When we got up the counter the owner was adding up our treasures when she looked at the camera bag and exclaimed "ten dollars? oh, this must be wrong!" So she asked if $2 sounded better. Uh, duh! I'm so happy I decided to splurge because otherwise I would have never found it so cheap.

It fits my diana f+ perfectly and still has another compartment of equal size on the opposite side that will be perfect for mushrooms and other found treasures.

When we got in the car I found the original papers that came with the camera bag. It was a list of what you could fit in the bag in each compartment with a few different cameras. Sooo neat!

Speaking of my Diana F+; here are some more shots from the instant back. They're definitely not what I was trying to get but the longer I look at them and the more time that passes the happier I am with them.
I finished off a pack of film, got frustrated at the instant back and changed it to the 35mm back. Which I now realize is pretty silly, I shouldn't get frustrated at it but rather take each picture that I'm not satisfied with as a learning experience. So now I have to shoot the rest of the 35mm film before I can put the instant back back on.

Well I've gotta run, today is my mom's birthday party! I'll be back tomorrow! Hope you're having a lovely weekend!
xoxo

We've got the instant back and i struggled with it, my boyfriend has managed better http://www.flickr.com/photos/dazb/sets/72157620776006680/

Have you got an LC-A? The instant back for that is wayyy nicer just because of the better exposure.

  11. Yeah, I always find it takes me three or four rolls of film to start to 'get' how the camera really works.

  17. give it up for brown leather camera cases! Dontcha just hate when thrift shops try to overcharge? I have three shops I've visited for years in my town, and the ohter day I went in to buy some cheap wood picture frames that had been there for two years (not exaggerating!) for 25 cents a piece and the owners weren't there they had a friend taking over and she was saying "Hmph, there's no way these could be 25 cents, we don't even use the red tags anymore." (even though they do!) and another time at the Lord's Closet a new person was at the front right next to a huge pile of stuffed animals with a giant sign saying 25 Cents and an arrow pointing at the stuffies. She tried to charge me 75 until I pointed out the sign and she got all huffy and said "Well, that sign SHOULD say 25 cents and up"

  30. The instant back can be a bit tricky, but hehe I know what you mean about getting frustrated a little.

I wish there was some way you could use both the instant back and normal back at the same time, because sometimes if I have film in, and I see something that might make a cool instant pic, it kinda bums me out, or if I have either of them on,and get bored and want to switch, you have to wait till the end of the film/instax!

Good score on the bag! Id love to find something like that with pleather :)

  31. Jennifer, I'm not 100% on the hours but I'm pretty sure they're open Tuesday-Sunday 11am-5pm. They might be open later but I know they're at least open until 5 for sure. Sorry to not be of more help! But definitely go! There are three different buildings filled with goodies! :D

Jodie, I know! It would be so awesome to be able to use 35mm film and instant film at the same time.
