that sally hansen--there's two in your favorites, I have that brand in bright red the name was "right said red" haha, and it IS seriously awesome. stays on PERFECT.

I used to be like you with nail polish, but somewhere along the way that changed and now I feel self conscious when I DO wear nail polish.

ReplyDeleteApril, really, why? My mom is like that too, she doesn't wear it because she doesn't want people looking at her nails. She got an infection a few year back and now one of her nails grows split.
I'm always a sucker for nail polish. I don't even wear it that much, but I love to look at all the colors, its quite mesmerizing!

ReplyDeleteI wear nail polish so much that if I go one day without it as if to let my nails rest/breathe...they hurt! Or at least they don't "feel" quite right and it's so uncomfortable. The only remedy is to put on polish!

ReplyDeletei just bought the Sally Hansen Lavender polish yesterday! It's heaven. THe bristels are curved and feels sooo good putting it on. It was so much fun i wanted to put 3 coats, but i resisted. I also got a White Decal Pen thatis Hello Kitty for 3 bucks. Look out for it. (it even has 10 tiny nail stickers)

ReplyDeleteI am addicted to nailpolish too. Every once and a while I feel so naked without it, I just don't recognize my own hands that way, that's when I always decide to stop for a little while until it feels normal again. And then go straight back to nailpolish;)
that is a huge collection of nail polish!!! have you heard of nail lacquer?!?!? it is suppose to last for weeks and not chip and stays shiny too! i want to try it cause the one reason i don't paint my nails that often is because it usually chips the next day and takes soo much effort for me to do my nails! i think next time i am at the beauty store i'll look around!

ReplyDeleteI used to only wear black or brown nail polish but suddenly I had a huge collection of colors, and even the mini brushes to do all sorts of designs. I've developed steady hands and am often seen with british flags, letters, and things like the bat signal on my nails. It is just too fun.

In terms of "chipping": I just discovered a nail polish that stays on almost seven days. It's amazing. And if you use a coat, it lasts even better!
Miss Kaylah, would you mind telling us what the color names are for your five favorites? I'm enamored with color names, plus I adore the ones you chose.

ReplyDeleteI only just started caring for my nails under a year ago and I'm surprised by how quickly polish colors add up to a collection. You can't mix them like regular paints/makeup but there are sssssooo many awesome colors.

ReplyDeletei didn't see any LA Girl Disco Brites in your collection, but you should get a few. they come in great bright colors, have fun, funky names like 'can you dig it?' 'platforms,' and 'turntable,' they are cruelty free/not tested on animals, AND they glow under black light! i got mine a fred meyers for like $3. you should check it out, lady!

Hi Kaylah! Thanks so much for sharing with us you (very) brightly colored nail polish collection! I didn't see any O.P.I. brand nail polish in there. If you have never tried it before, you gotta! This stuff dries quick and last FOREVER! (had some on my toes for more than 2 months... I know... lazy). Doesn't chip very often either, and comes in a ton of colors. The "N.I.C.O.L.E." brand is made by OPI, but for some reason doesn't seem to last as long. Can't get it at walmart though, but a store called ULTA always has tons of colors in stock :)

ReplyDeleteI think I'm in love! I collect nailpolish to- completely unintentionally. Mine started the same way as yours- one pretty color at a time. However, my most recent discovery is Nail Polish Strips! Oh my goodness. Lovelovelove. I got a box of Sally Hansen ones from Walmart (about $7), and they're magic. I know Sephora has some as well (&15), and they're "Glee" prints like music notes and polka dots. But I got some flower ones and I love them. No more chipping! There's tons of colors including solids, metallic, and patterns! You don't have to worry about multiple coats or drying time either! Just stick, file, and go!

ReplyDeleteIf you're feeling adventurous, try American Apparel's nail lacquer... I LOVE it. I suck at doing my nails and it goes on so easy and so thick! And the colours they have are amazing. They're a little more expensive (but still cheaper than say, OPI) but I think they're worth it!

ReplyDeleteOh man! I wish my nail polish collection was as big as yours. Sadly with my skin tone I can't pull off as many bright colors so I'm limited to darker ones (like I can't do yellow or orange). I also can't stand chipped nails. One chip and they HAVE to be repainted.

Nice collection! I just wanted to make sure that you knew about the REVLON SCENTED polishes that are out right now. They are perfumed when dry-not overwhelming-you have to smell it! I have grape icy and it reminds me of grape bubble gum! Sooo fun. I got mine at CVS. (6.39 here) and another coming from drugstore.com (4.79) tomorrow!

ReplyDeleteI love those chunky Nicole glitters, I wish I had one, but I like to DIY with Martha Stewart fine-milled glitter. I just sprinkle it the hell on there. :P
You should check out Dr. Frankenpolish- if you have a couple you're tired of and like trolling ye olde dollar store, you could mix and match your own unique franken! :D
I'm exactly the same! New polish three times a week, when I don't have any, my nails are kind of light green. Looks kind of wierd:)
