Have you ever seen a kitten play with yarn? - The Dainty Squid

Have you ever seen a kitten play with yarn?

Saturday, September 04, 2010

I hadn't. Until Rayray and Leaf carried a ball of it upstairs from the basket in my craft room.

It was thee cutest thing I have ever seen. Rayray was a nut! He was flipping, and flailing and just acting a fool.

Leaf and Doc weren't quite as amused. Leaf played a little bit, but Doc was like "ugh, u guyz r such babies". Squid, of course, wanted nothing to do with it. She was too busy napping in the sun to be bothered with such activities.

I love my kitties so much!
xoxo.

  2. Aw, that is so cute. My cat has never played with yarn in her life. I can leave it all out and she doesn't even give it a second look. Which, I suppose, saves me a lot of yarn:) But I'm not sure my cat knows she's a cat, how else could she resist yarn?!

I have a cat who loves felt! I have these patches laying around and when she gets a hold of them, she starts biting it.

  7. You make me even more excited about having cats again! We should be getting 2 kitties end of this year/start of next.

A tabby to be called Snodge and hopefully a black part Maine Coon who will be called Ponky. My family have been weirdly planning this for a while and I think we know we'll go to the shelter or store to look at kittens and one will look like a Snodge or a Ponky that goes against what we've been saying. Yaayaya, cats.

    I'm calm :3

  12. My older cat doesn't play with yarn byt when the younger came into our house, she loved it! It was a bit confusing, I thought earlier that they do it only in cartoons or something... :)

  19. It's a totally kitty stereotype to play with yarn, but, you're right, I had never seen it. So cuuuuuute!!

Love the new header! I would love to have a shelf in my craft room that all those little things. Of course, I need a craft room first. But before that a house... Bah.

I have added a link to your blog on my blog because it is one of my absolute favorites. You have inspired me and I shall spend the remainder of my day crafting, as my blog does not contain nearly enough crafts.

  23. Aah! So adorable :) My cat is sort of like a little, sleepy old man, and he never interferes with my yarn. Now that I see how cute it is, though, I'm a tiny bit disappointed.

  24. The new header is supa cute! :) As are your kitties. My newest addition, Howdy, adores yarn and string. If I've left any crafty things out during the day, I end up having to clean up my living room for half an evening when I get home! haha!

  25. Have your cats ever got a sticker or tape stuck to their feet? It's the funniest thing. Just not when the tape is super sticky :( that's no fun

  27. awe. ray ray looks freaking adorable. makes me want to throw a ball of yarn at my kitties. i never wanted to do this, because i didn't want them to get the idea that my pretty yarn was a plaything (as they steal my ponytail holders, socks, shoes, and my daughters stuffed animals already. animals are so funny. love it!

  28. Awww so adorable! haha yes my kitties loved yarn when they were little.. Our little one now however has a thing for taking my knickers out and bringing them to the front room or dropping them on the stairs! My fave frilly ones too haha :0

I love Ray Ray! Your furry family are wonderful!

  29. haha. it's cute until you wake up in the dark at 530am to go to work and trip because the cats have made obstacle courses out of yarn balls. i even put my yarn in a cabinet but they have figured out how to pull open cabinet doors and get in there and dig the yarn out! i guess i need to invest in some better storage containers :) your pictures are really cute though!

  34. My cat once ate 6 meters of string from my roman blinds in my kitchen. It ended with one rushed trip to the vet and no yarn for kitty. Oh dear!
